                  Lasorda

What's the moral of the Lasorda story? He's betting on football. Does that mean he was betting on baseball? Does that mean he was throwing games?

                    Punisher,

                    I miss your point.

If Lasorda was betting in Las Vegas legally on a football game, what's the big deal?

Lasorda isn't even a manager anymore.

Rose was nailed for betting on baseball (and maybe his own team) while in the game. Athletes are allowed to place legal bets (horse tracks, blackjack, etc) on sports other than their own.

If I remember correctly Lasorda was often the the horse tracks. Even when he managed.

No, why do you have to be such a dip shit all the time, my god.
What he was doing is perfectly legal. Just thought it was pretty cool to see someone, giving the pregame speech, having money on the game. That's all. Quit trying to start shit.

                            Tommy's a good man....A couple bets don't make a guy bad...
I've drank with him on more than a few occasions, on Rush Street, downtown Chicago, at Jilly's {Jilly Rizzo's namesake lounge}......He's friends with some of Chi-Towns most powerful men.....He even drove a car the wrong way down the Kennedy expressway one night, but that's another story...
