Tuesday's List of 13: Nobody asked me, but...............
                  13) Top sports story of Tuesday is this: New Orleans-Tulane college hoop game in Crescent City. The road to recovery in the south isn't and won't be smooth, but hopefully having a real sporting event there can make things seem more normal.

                  12) I watch DJ Strawberry play basketball for Maryland, and I feel old; seems like yesterday his dad was a promising young star for the Mets. Time flies when you're having fun.

                  11) San Diego Chargers will have seven road trips this year that are longer than any of Cincinnati's.

                  10) In 64 games at Lambeau Field that fell after November 21, there has been just one field goal of 50+ yards; Fred Cox of Minnesota nailed 53-yarder forty years ago, for the only one.

                  9) Mike Tice just won't go away. Media has him fired, buried, bansihed from coaching, but now he is 5-5, and Chicago has some tough road games coming up. What happens if Vikings make the playoffs? Will his job still be in jeopardy?

                  8) Packers have scored 218 points, allowed 204. They're 2-8.

                  7) Iignorant prognosticators have hopped all over UAlbany's bandwagon as popular pick to win America East; writers are generally lazy, so just go with popular wisdom. Well, Great Danes lost at home to Sacred Heart Monday, a bad loss, few days after Boston U hung in at Duke for a half. Terriers have to be considered better than Albany, at this point.

                  6) Good night to be scalper in Kansas City, with Iowa facing Kentucky in semis of Guardian Classic, with two of college hoop's most rabid fan bases around. For their sake, I hope scalping is legal in Kansas City.

                  5) If I am the #2 team in BCS, am very wary of the team that is #3, Penn State. The story of a 79-year old legend leading one more team into a championship game would bring in ratings off the chart. ABC would foam at the mouth for JoePa out in Pasadena, although Texas-USC, this year, looks like it will be the 1-2 matchup we very seldom get in these games.

                  4) Japanese catcher Johjima signed for $16.5 with Seattle, who are owned by Japanese interests. We'll see if he is worth it; has to be tough to have catcher who doesn't speak English.

                  3) Who would want to coach the Trailblazers? Every year, one of the players goes off on the coach; Ruben Patterson this time.At least they suspended him this tiome. Coaches change, insanity stays the same. They have too many real young players to be successful.

                  2) What kind of mood do you think Daniel Snyder was in on Sunday, after his Redskins lost to Norv Turner's Raiders?

                  1) Addition to my list of things I want to do: Maui Classic week in Paradise. Imagine watching four games a day, then going for walk on beach? Sounds good to me.
