Wies is a much better coach than Willingham.

That game may turned out differently had Ohio st had Troy Smith not fucked up i.e. suspension/not practiced.

I dont think that's even a close comparison....

Weis has done so much more for ND then Willingham did in his first year, it's not even funny.

And I mean...they scored on EVERYONE they played....not their fault that the schedule doens't please everyone...but hell, they played at Pitt which at the time was supposed to be tough, at michigan, played michigan st which is no slouch, they played USC tougher then anyone else has this year....Tennessee was supposed to be a good, but no one could fathom how shitty they became...

Hell they scored over 30 points in all but one game.

            Give them their due...

i agree...nobody would have said there schedule is soft at the beginning of the year. It's not there fault those teams fell off. they are a very good team and will be for a while IMO. Weis is a great coach.

Ohio State matches up with ND.

Auburn no way. Auburn has played a weaker schedule than Ohio State and ND.

I agree Ohio State and Penn St would be a good matchup.

Auburn would be interesting...but I think their defense would get burned too much.

I was still hoping for Miami/Notre Dame...but damned Georgia Tech ruined that

I agree they played USC tough.......but I don't know if it was tougher for ND to hang with USC at home or Fresno to go to USC and play tough......IMO they both have very good arguements

While it is true that ND is indeed "back," they are not as good as many believe them to be nor are they as good as they will be once Weis has had a real opportunity to recruit. The Big Ten is not what many thought they would be at the beginning of the year, but Penn State and Ohio State can hang with anyone simply because of their defenses. The ND schedule proved to be what it usually proves to be - a "paper tiger." The fact of the matter is that ND can walk over bad teams because Weis is a great coach. I would not want Weis to have 5 or 6 weeks to figure my team out. They will get better, but to believe that they could "walk over" any of the above teams is misinformed nonsense. The ND near win against USC is no different than the OSU near win against Texas really. I believe the odds are good that ND will win a national championship with Weis. They do not have the talent right now & this ND fever talk is really funny.
Circumstances do not make the man; they reveal him.

Like it or not boys, the Irish are BACK!!!!!!

Don't even start to compare Huey and Duey (Davie and Willingham) to Weis because it isn't even close.... Don't even say that Willingham is better because of the 8-0 start, he did it with smoke and mirrors. Just look at the stats if you don't believe me. And don't say that they didn't give him a chance to win with his own players, don't want to hear it!

                              GO IRISH!!!!

notre dame is ranked where they should be....the pollsters are usually pretty close to being on......everything else is just opinion....we can go back and forth like all the analysts......notre dame has a high powered offense that is almost as good as anyones in the nation, but their defense is something to be desired....however, in abowl situation i will bet on ND and weis to get a game plan together over a 4 week period.....
