lol, no shit...it's like they aren't interested in playing the 1st half cuz they think they'll win just by showing up...it will be interesting to see if they get down to Texas in the Rose Bowl at half and how they respond against a legit team
That's what makes this team number 1. The pressure they play under every game. It's like NE. Been in the big games, nothing rattles them , and they just play ball.
Poise is a WAC team from poduct Fresno, taking the #1 team down to the final seconds and scoring more points than ANY team has against USC in their 32 game win streak! That's poise

it's a lot of things, but it's not poise, look it up. i know you are trying to make a point but make it right! gutsy, ballsy, toughminded all of those, but poise is what USC had, not getting rattled when faced with the adversity of possibly losing to a team you are much better than. i can see you don't like them and it's ok, because the streak lives on.....and believe me, when they get to texas, they'll know they'd better show up for 48 min.....the scary thing about this team is they remind me of michigans "fab five" back in the nineties, get a lead and relax or just not start the game with their head on because they were "almost bored" they were so good. that gets you into trouble in a playoff, thank goodness there is only one game left before the title game...
Hey Einstein....Thanks for the lecture. I know what poise means. You look it up!
The second reference to Poise in the dictionary...... Freedom from affectation or embarrassment
As you said, it's a lot of things, and it IS what my point was. Which is, that a bunch of kids who NEVER got looks from the USC's and UCLA's of this world, who were 24 point underdogs, were in that game and almost, yes almost beat the mighty #1 Trojans. Just one pass play away.
They were, by what what Pete Caroll says, the best team they've faced this year. It takes poise to walk into the coliseum and play at THAT level with THAT team in front of 100,000 of THEIR fans. Get a clue!
Fresno State showed poise the ENTIRE game. Unlike USC who only started playing when they were getting they're ass handed to them. Oh, and by the way...Reggie Bush was awesome, but was it poise when he fumbled and Fresno took the lead on the next play, 42-41?
Yes, USC won the game, but they didn't show me poise. Being the winner at the end doesn't always necessarily mean the team with the most poise.
well, mr sensetive, while you are looking at your dictionary, get out a calculator to add up the plays....u say one play from winning??? hell, they were TWO plays from TYING, needed a td PLUS a two pt conversion...
you are right, they played their ass off and deserve attention and credit. i certainly hope they don't drop in the polls for this! i was just saying and still say, that it doesn't take poise to play when you HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE! you don't have to worry about being second guessed or questioned because you are not supposed to be close, let alone win. but i'll give you this, i think you are right about taking poise to go into that stadium and play..... my bad.
Sorry for the sensitivity....My last thought. Fresno St. did NOT go in there with the thought, "we have nothing to lose." That's the truth. They said exactly that in the local papers.
They felt like they should win. They felt like if they were beaten like a drum, that they would lose everything. Mostly credibility. So it did take poise in their eyes because they put a lot of pressure on themselves. To them, it was the game of their lives. But I get your point too....
Peace!

well, i don't think they were gonna win, but i can see why they'd feel that way. been to six straight bowls and won the last three, they should be getting respect. probably better than the 16 ranking as well (only 2 losses on road against tough teams) my guess is they win their bowl game again this year.
