Tonights match up between MAC's Buffalo and MAAC's Canisius is the two teams 33rd meeting. Griffs lead the series 24-9. (4-2 in the last 6 SU)
I REALY REALY like the Golden Griffs here.....
Canisius should be a much improved team this year. They return 4 starters from last year. bringing back 2 seniors and 4 juniors who have all seen substantial playing time.
They also bring in a big bodied transfer from Baylor Corey Herring and a bigger body transfer from Lamar Ola Matti. Both will add size to a team who seriously lacked it last year, going with a 4 guard lineup. In addition they get Mclean a redshirt center.
Buff Bulls return only 36 ppg from last years team that lost in the MAC chapionship game. They averaged 74.6. But do return a Big highly rated center Idbihi who averaged 9.9 ppg ly. The Bulls are only expected to place 5th in the MAC east. After playing in the Championship / winnig 23 games last year / and chalking up an NIT win in the first rd . Maybe a down year for the bulls and an up year for the Griffs.
I feel Griffs depth, experience and coaching get the job done tonight and wouldn't be shocked at an outright win.
