I heard a couple of weeks ago and was told by some members that Tama Bay would eliminate the Devils, and I made a prediction that the Devils would beat Tampa Bay in 5, and in 5 they did. I Honestly thought 4 but gave them a 1 game cushion. This series between Ottawa nd New Jersey will in my opinion decide who will win the Stanley Cup. There are many people that will be betting the Senators in this series, both very good bettors on this board, and some sharpshooters in my area. Most analysts have the Sens winning as well. Everybody loves the SENS, so I must be off into space. The Sens are the logical choice, have more skill, have more speed, so I should just stop this thread right now and agree that the Sens will win!!!…………………...but I won’t and I can’t.
I have been betting hockey for almost 10 years. And what I have learned is that there are teams that PUT UP and others that should SHUT UP. This will be the Devils fourth appearance in the conference finals in the past 8 years. They are 3-0 in conference final play and won the Stanley Cup 2 times in that span. This is also their 3rd appearance in the past 4 years in the conference finals - INCREDIBLE. Show me a better goaltender in the clutch than Martin Brodeur, and I’ll show you my 3 balls and the back of my ass.
The Devils have been money in the play-offs for the past decade. The Sens seem to always find a way to choke. This is the farthest the Sens have ever gone. Remember last year when the world was on them to beat the Leafs, and they found a way to blow it AGAIN???? AND THE YEAR BEFORE THAT WHEN THEY CHOKED AGAIN, AND THE YEAR BEFORE THAT…………. You get my point.
The Sens are a great team, just not sure if they are a championship material.
I learned a valuable lesson during the past year………….when betting on the NHL, you have to remember that THE TREND IS YOUR FRIEND. The Sens seem to crumble when it counts against the BIG teams in the play-offs (Twolves part 2)
I might be totally off key here and the Sens can win in 4, and they do have home ice-advantage………….but I just had to express my point of view cause I just had to. Take it for whats it worth, but the Devils will win that series, and they are the dog so you also get plus money, wow is that nice.
I smell upset here, I smell a nice upset in this one.
It’s the quick and talented offence minded Senators against the defensive minded and tight checking system playing Devils.
