This talk about Mcnabb makes me wonder, how much of this eagles debaucle is Andy Reids fault. Well not only the eagles but this goes for almost every team. Mcnabb is clearly playing hurt, he even said himself he is the heart of the team and the only way he wont play is if you carry him off the field..OK this is a bold statement but how much heart can you bring the team when your accuracy, speed, velocity and every other QB component is downgraded from a nagging injury. Backup QB is now Mike McMahon, I realize a hurt Donovan is probably better than a healthy mcmahon but why, as the coach, basically show your team no stance in the situation and keep mcnabb in..wouldnt you want the best situation for your team? Mcnabbs game was accuracy and running in pressure situations, well with limited receiving--leading to WRs who arent very familiar with the plays--results in less accuracy..and its obvious donovans running ability is put off. I personally thought coaches manned the depth charts not the players. IMO Andy Reid ruined the eagles playoff chances, not TO and not Donovan. It would be very different if Mcnabb were more of a pocket QB like Leftwiches situation back at Marshall he showed to be more in the pocket although he had the scrambling threat. Mcnabb is NOT the heart of the team there is NO heart on this team, they remind me of the lakers a couple years back. A team only with heart wins, NE has won 3 of the past 4 years with heart...bellichek drafts players not soley on ability but other factors(grades, community association, work ethic).Im in the mood to write a whole book on this but I will save you my opinions for after you guys post. So essentially what I tried to imply was that Andy Reid and the staff are more of the problem than donovan or TO. Take NE years back when Bledsoe was QBing he got hurt and brady replaced him...even though bledsoe couldnt play, Bellichek gave brady the ball and he showed his abilities..The eagles cant let a injured QB play just because he says he can, and they also cant put Mcnabb as a definite future franchise QB. Bledsoe was a well known very good QB for NE, he was replaced by a backup at michigan who turned into be a known franchise QB Tom Brady. The only true franchise QBs I can see right now are Brady, both Mannings, obviously Vick wheter you hate it or love it, Roethlesberger, Delhomme, and I will have to say Palmer. Andy Reid let mcnabb play with an injury way too early in the season instead of letting him heal for a few weeks...The defense of the eagles was good enough to let mcnabb rest and still be able to pull a couple wins out.
My question to the board is...what is your take on this situation?...Who would you fault for it? And please comment on my writeup whether good or bad
