NFL Week 10 Monday night analysis
Cowboys (5-3) @ Eagles (4-4)-Dallas crushed Birds in first meeting, 33-10, outrushing Philly, 167-19, with total yardage 456-129. Pokes led 27-3 at half, and forced seven 3-and-outs on 10 Eagle drives. Desperation time for proud Philly team, though, as they're rid of Owens, and facing team they've beaten nine of last 11 times, with seven of nine wins by 22+ points. Cowboys lost last six visits to this city, where Eagles are 3-0 this year (wins by 39,3,3). Philly has rushed for 83 or less yards in each of last six games; they're 1-4 as favorite this year, and have scored seven or less first half points in each of last four games.

Monday's List of 13: Summing up a weird week of pro ball
                  13) Hard to describe how pathetic the Giants were Sunday, and yes, I picked them on this website, but still, they threw four picks (one returned for TD), missed a 28-yeard FG, lost a fumble, and allowed both a kick and punt to be run back for TD's, the most pathetic special teams performance in league history. All against a Viking team that was 0-4 on road, with 20 points their closest loss. Nice.

                  12) The wind was gusting up to 47 mph in Chicago Sunday, and was so bad a missed Bear FG came very close to landing out of bounds on the sideline. Why would a coach allow FG to be tried in such hideous wind?

                  11) Something is wrong with Trent Green; he averaged just 3.6 yards per pass attempt Sunday, and isn't moving well. At 5-4, the Chiefs will need strong finish just to make playoffs.

                  10) Kyle Boller completed his first eight passes, but his return was no help at all, as Ravens got ripped again, 30-3 by Jags. At this rate, the Billick era could be ending soon in Baltimore.

                  9) 49ers' passing stats Sunday, in the wind: 1 for 13 for total of 28 yards. Yes, 1 for 13, and they still covered the spread, thanks to Bears' Bobby Wade, who muffed three punts.

                  8) In their last five games, 49ers passed for total of 262 yards, or 52.4 yards per game, making them the Rice Owls of NFL.

                  7) Rams led 3-0, things were going well, then they tried a fake field goal that failed miserably. This is Seattle's year, things are going well for them, and they took off from there and beat the Rams fairly soundly.

                  6) Colts are 12th team to be 8-0 since the merger; of previous 11, eight made the Super Bowl, six won it.

                  5) Why haven't the Steelers retired #82 of John Stallworth?

                  4) Frontrunning nitwits are all praising Jon Gruden's decision to go for two at end of 36-35 win; if it had failed and Tampa had lost, those same nitwits would be ripping Gruden.

                  3) Best game professional son Chris Simms has played; still think he's not very good, but he played well vs Redskins.

                  2) Brian Baldinger is a horrible color commentator on FOX; he kept saying John Hufnagel was calling plays, but Coughlin had headsets on, and was talking to a radio in Eli Manning's helmet. Why is that so hard to figure out?

Why did they hire so many former lineman to analyze games? Who told them this was a good idea? Just because Madden was a lineman doesn't mean there has to be a run on them.

2a) I forgot to mention this in the college wrapup, but Kansas State threw 30 passes Saturday, and completed six. Nebraska was 13-22 in same game, so it wasn't the weather. How can a bigtime college team complete 6 of 30 passes?

                  1) Mike Shanahan is now 16-5 vs Oakland since Al Davis got rid of him as coach of the Raiders. Don't think he doesn't just relish each and every one of those wins.
