Everyone is talking about how Bellicheck is the far superior coach and that he will come up with a scheme to clown manning tonight.

wHAT ABOUT THIS SCENARIO?

With the soft schedule the Colts have played so far this year, maybe Dungy has limited the passing game to keep the more vulnerable to injury players (QB and WRs) healthy for this showdown and the remainder of the season. Maybe NE prepares defensively expecting the Colts to come out and methodically move the ball downfield in small chunks as they have done all year. And Indy finally opens up the offense and gives manning the opportunity to chump the beaten down Pats and exorcise some Foxborough demons by running up the score and burying the hapless Pats. Not only does this get the monkey off Manning's back, but Dungy benefits as well by finally trumping Bellicheck.

This certainly isn't the leading scenario in my mind as I think the Colts will likely take whatever NE gives them with Manning calling the shots at the line, but what a story it would make.

The Pats aren't close (not even the same zip code) to the team they have been over the past few years. History means absolutely nothing here, in my opinion. But, I am also not a big believer in 'technical' handicapping.

They have played a soft schedule IMO. If they beat the Pats tonight then i will be impressed with them. They start off well evrey year and people always start talking about how great they are and how much better they are every year. Then what happens....They lose early in the palyoffs. I will take the pats at home getting points in a primetime game any day of the week.
