  • Dunkel NHL Chase

what are your opinions on using the Dunkel NHL Index for a chase system using his (1.5) or greater picks?

I've been doing good with ML parlays and straight bets on lines of 170 or lower but was thinking of trying a chase using his highest play each day - could get expensive. Or maybe his highest using the -1.5 line.

Your strategy may be a good approach. To tell the truth I have not been a big puck player, but may give it a go. Here are the Dunkel NHL results from their site.

    ------------------------------------------------------

    NHL Hockey
    Weekly Results

For the week of October 31 through November 6, the Dunkel Hockey Index went 27-18-2 straight up (SU) for a 60.0 winning percentage (the 2 represents games listed as even). When calculated against the spread (ATS)*, Dunkel's mark was 26-21 for a 55.3 winning percentage. For the over/under in which Dunkel's prediction differed from the posted line, our mark was 11-9-27 for a 55.0 winning percentage. Here are the total results for the week and year to date. In addition, make sure to check out our rankings for the week and today's picks.

    10/31 - 11/06 TOTAL
    SU 27-18-2 (60.0%) 76-49-8 (60.8%)
    ATS 26-21 (55.3%) 80-53 (60.2%)
    O/U 11-9-27 (55.0%) 41-27-65 (60.3%)

    * ATS calculations assume 1 1/2 goal margin for posted favorites.

I don't believe in any chase system. I'll rather except my loss and move onto the next game.

        Chase

Dumb me! I didn't even realize that "chase" meant a Martingale system. Yes, a "chase" system is not a way to go.

If you lose a play, do not double up, just stay at 1 unit. Once you win, then you might increase a wager. If you hit a winning streak, then is the time to capitalize on your winnings, increasing wagers in graduated increments while drawing some profits.

It does look like Dunkel has a good track record in the NHL, so some sort of a winning strategy may work.

Saturday I played the 4 teams rated 2 goals or higher in a parlay. Three of the four teams won. The only loss was Detroit.

            Par?

In tonight's games, the NY Rangers have a Dunkel rating of 2 1/2 over Pittsburgh. The money line is about -175.

If you parlayed this, for example to the winner of the Monday night NFL game (whoever that might be!), a $100 investment would pay +200.

            Any thoughts???
