I had a great Saturday, going 5-0 including 3-0 on top 2* plays. I don't love anything today but I have three plays which I think are nice plays.
1* Saints +3 (-120)
Good spot for the poor Saints as they play in Baton Rouge for the second week in a row, the closest thing they have to a home field. The Bears defense might be the best in the league but how can you lay points on the road with their offense? If the Saints can get to 16, which is likely, they should cover and maybe win straight up.
1* Jets +7 (-120)
The Jets are a big home dog off the bye, a strong technical situation ever since the league reintroduced byes. The Chargers are coming off a big home win in the division and might be flat. The Jets bad QB situation is a real concern but they're getting a LOT of points here.
1* Buccaneers +1
The pick seems ugly but Tampa is 5-2 and unbeaten at home. The Bucs' atrocious road loss LW at San Fran not only creates point spread value but means Gruden has spent the entire week working on the offense. Carolina has won four in a row, but look who they beat---GB, Arizona, Detroit and the dysfunctional Vikes.
Opinion only: Green Bay
Note: all of these picks seem a tad ugly as I'm playing either poor teams or a team off a poor effort. But often the most uncomfortable plays are the best. I'm hoping for the best.
