What does everyone think about the number of games you bet? For example, would it be better to bet two-three NCAAF games heavily or spread the wealth around to 10-12 games. I am torn on this. I like focusing on a couple of games but also like betting a bunch because of more chances. What does everyone think???

This question has been asked for years, and I think it comes down to personal choice and your own temperament.
I am sure cases could be made by both schools of thought.
Obviously by betting say only two games big, you are in one sense increasing your percentage, but I am sure there are many cases in a given day where the two big plays might lose and if the money were spread around instead to 10 or 12 games, you might have split at the very worst;of course you could also gave a 2-10 day and lose more money than by just betting 2 games.
There is always the possibility of a compromise(which many do-scaling))of betting the 10-12 games and betting the two games you like more(but obviously not as much as you would have had you bet only the two games).
Anyways, that is my answer;for the most part, I usually scale and do not put all my eggs in one basket on a given day.Last edited by savage1; 11-04-2005, 05:30 PM.

Here's how I look at it. If you bet 100 bucks on 30 games or $1000 each on three games, you're putting the same amount at risk. You are actually playing it safer by playing the 30 games but also limiting your upside potential. I think there is no good answer to this question. As Savage said, it's a matter of preference.

If I like 10 games I'll bet 10 games. I'll rather bet all of them than cherry pick. My luck the games I pass will probably win and the games I bet will lose. That's why I play them all
Usually if I like lots of games I'll cut back my per unit wage amount.

What I've found is that if you only cherry pick, a lot of times you miss playing systems that are proven long term winners, reverse favorites, home dogs within division, etc. Thus, I try to play them all for a base amount, then ****** the cherry picks. As with anything, this strategy is only as good as the last day. Good luck.

In my opinion, if you are playing to make money, you have to limit your games.
For instance...if I play ONE game a day (and skip a day here and there)...my win % goes WAY up.
When I do this, I have a much better chance of winning 7-10 games in a row.
This is the way I make money.
If I make 10 plays every day, my win percentage suffers.
And I RARELY go 10-0...it's almost impossible.
But ,that is just my opinion.
I guess it depends on if you are in it for the action, or to make money.
Good luck.

Hey the best stratgey thats the professional use is limit your games down to 3 or 4 . Never bet more them 1 at a time. The more you bet the better your odds is to lose everything. Remember in gambling people go on streaks and if you play 10 games for the day if your on a bad streak your going to lose it all. The best thing is to also stay away from the games that look to be a sure thing. If you keep a nice bankroll and limit your plays and keep your head clear after a loss you will do better then most. Now remember your betting with you brain and not your heart, so if your heart's not into it then your playing a lossing game.Rainman's Crusher= strongest play= 4-1
