Air Force coach, Fisher DeBerry made the following comment last week

TCU had a lot more Afro-American players than we did and they ran a lot faster than we did.

Afro-American kids can run very well. That doesn't mean that Caucasian kids and other descents can't run, but it's very obvious to me that they run extremely well.



Is that a racist comment? I don't believe it is. He stated the obvious. It's something most have known for decades but are too afraid to say openly.

Joe Paterno made a similar comment. I wonder if he'll face the same scrutiny and criticism.

Americans are too uptight. We are too concerned about being politically correct.

I don't believe it's racism either. I love the racism issue. You can get some very heated debates abuot that. Just the other day I was listening to the Jim Rome show on ESPN radio and I heard Micheal Irvin say that they can't use the racism card too much because it loses it value then.

Its not racism. Its statitistics. More blacks (unless they are afro-americans) are in the NFL, are faster, and might be even stronger. Whats the big deal? He shouldnt have taken that comment back. Frank-if memory serves me, I think it was nastier than that;I beleive he said they had smaller brains or something to the effect that they were not as smart as Whites. I am pretty sure of that;the remarks were made quite a few years ago.
