Now that the two controvesial opinion poll questions on Rush Limbaugh have pretty well played out, I thought it would be more appropriate to get us all back to our favorite activity, GAMBLING;I have an interesting question, and I am sure the answers will be quite different as we all llok at things a little differently.
For the sake of the question lets say we all rate games between 1 and 5 stars.
Ok here goes:
Lets say you bet a favorite in football at -9 1/2 at some time prior to the game(perhaps like Pitt. over Baltimore the other night).
Now lets say you see the line going steadily up like the other night until it reaches 13 as it did in some places on Pitt.
The question is how do you feel having bet the game at 9 1/2 when line is now 13 and what would you do?
Lets say initially it is a 1 unit play.
Do you 1) leave the bet alone figuring you got the best of it and since it is only a 1 unit bet.
2) Worry that too many people are on the game worrying you and thus you decide to take back part of the bet, all of the bet or even more than you bet initially bet on the favorite;please specify how you would feel and what percentage you would take back.
3) Be really greedy and bet even MORE on the favorite at 13 because it seems so certain(I bet there are some people who would use this philosophy)
4) Other and please specify how you would feel and what you would do.
The second part of the question is basically the same as the first EXCEPT this time lets say you bet the game at 9 1/2 as a 4 or 5 unit play and now it is 13;then under those comditions, state how you would feel and which of above options above you would choose.
My answer is this:it used to be that I got the best of the bet at 9 1/2 and thus do nothing.
Now my thinking is that there are too many people on it worrying me, and I would probably be tempted to take back at least 1/2 of the bet if not more at 13 under both scenarios I listed.
