  • Sports Pager Question

    I have a CP1250 sports pager and have not received any service all week.
    In the past sometimes there is no service for a day, but thats about it.
    Is anyone else having the same problem and if so, do you know what is causing the service blackout?

    I'm having same problem with mine .. all it says is ESPN to go ... brought it like 2 years ago from outfit so not sure where to go .. any help appreciated ..

      Maybe the service is eminating from Florida or somewhere else that was hit by the storms?

        if anyone is comptemplating buying a pager be sure it is returnable for a full refund if you can't receive all the options on it.

        When I bought mine the seller checked to make sure my area was on the 'ok' reception list he had but I could only receive one of the features. (I worked with the police dept and ambulance service and knew we had a lot of 'dead zones' for radio signal reception). Got a full refund but was sorry i couldn't use it.

          My service is out to. Last time this happened it was due to lightning hitting a tower and it took about a week to fix if I remember right. You should be able to just call your billing company and they should be able to tell you. I was going to try to call today if I get time

            Buzz-thanks. At least I know there is nothing wrong with my pager as it has been working perfectly until the power outage.
            ps Billiing company? I don't know what you mean, as my service was free upon purchase of the unit.

              Mine has been out Since Monday. I have a friend who works for Motorola and the sports paging service origniates from an office in Fort Lauderdale area...obviously there are 4 million without power still in SFL so it is going to take some time.

              I do miss my service, but I realize that they've got bigger issues other than our pagers not updating. Be patient it will be back...hopefully soon!

                if you bought your pager from the guy on ebay never call the number it gives for service or you will be disconnected.

                  i got something in the mail from t c bets that says i get a free pager with a $500 deposit. i didn't call, but was curious if the service is free.

                  anybody have any knowledge on this? it looks like from this post that some are paying for a service and others never have paid anything for service.

                    You should never pay for monthly pager service any more;free service should come with the cost of the pager wherever you buy it.
                    A few years back some places charged monthly fees, but that has all changed. I have used pagers for over 5 years and never once paid any fees.
