1st round matchups:
1* Singh -139 over Goosen
Vijay was last year’s winner at this course and I'm thinking that there is no way that he’s missing two cuts in a row. He also finished second here in 2003, so he hopefully he got his problems out of his system last week and he will get his game together. I like him him to post very solid numbers this week and maybe win the tourney.
1* Ogilvy -140 over N.Price
He has eventeen straight made cuts which I find impressive. Back to back top 20 finishes, including last week’s tie for third. He’s still probably upset about the bogey on 18 last week which cost him about $190,000, ouch. His last two finishes here were top 20s, including a top 10 last year. He’s also a great player to take on the easier golf courses, and this one qualifies. He’s top 20 in putting, top 15 in birdie average and top 25 in scoring.
1* J. Gore +110 over C. Howell
After watching this big guys game the last few months I have come to really like it. He has a win, a top-30 and top-50 finish in his last three outings, so I like him this week.
1* D. Toms -110 over A. Scott
I'm fading Adam Scott here as his game has absolutely been brutal over the last two months. In his last six starts on tour, he hasn’t finished better than 28th. His stats aren’t very good either, as he’s 130th in putting and 85th in birdie average.
1* S. Ames -135 over S. Flesch
I'm fading S. Flesch just as I did last week and I made a profit. He's been so cold lately and his stats have just been horrible. This is another easy course where you got to put up low numbers and Flesch hasn't been puting up to many birdies as of late.
1* J. Kelley +105 over M. Weir
I'm fading the lefty because this guy shouldn't even bother to play this week. He can’t make the Tour Championship unless he wins, which probably isn’t going to happen. He’s missed seven of his last 12 cuts and hasn’t finished better than 15th in any of those. He’s 104th in scoring and 150th in birdie average and has been struggling all season. A definite play against.
Tournament Matchups
1* Singh -140 over Goosen
Once again I think Singh is to perform well and you got to play him when he has won and come in 2nd in this tourney the last 2 years.
1* T. Clark -120 over Maryuama
I aboslutely love Clark's game and I think he's going to be a solid player and one to play on for years to come. He is so consistent I compare to him to S. Verplank. Clark has three straight top 20s, including a top 10 last week. He finished 11th here last year, is fifth in putting, top 10 in birdie average and top 15 in scoring.
1* C. Pettersson -129 over S. Leaney
He’s made six straight cuts, and four of those six have been top 20s. He was also a top 10 finisher here last year.
1* T. Pernice Jr. +102 over R. Palmer
Pernice is nothing spectacular, but has finished in the top 40 in each of the last two years here. He’s also made six straight cuts and has two straight top 20s, including runner up last week when he had victory snatched from his grasp by Lucas Glover. His short game was unreal last week and I'm going to play the hot hand and hope he keeps it up for another week.
1* Ogilvy -138 over T. Herron
1* Ogilvy -128 over B. Crane
1* Toms -110 over A. Scott
1* J. Daly -108 over Weir
A lot of plays, but I like em.
