While I have refused to buy into the USC hype all year---their defense is too weak for them to be considered a team for the ages---this is a sensational spot. They are now two weeks off their emotional win at Notre Dame, are back home and are now ranked second in the BCS poll. With Virginia Tech continuing to win and Texas having a soft schedule the rest of the year, Carroll knows his team needs a huge win. The BCS, despite what it says, does include margin of victory because the polls consider margin of victory. USC needs a rout. Washington State is no better than the sixth best team in the Pac 10. USC by 49
