I believe VT or Texas would beat USC. I would even go as far as Ohio State beating USC if they could get there offense going. USC is way over rated. ND almost beat them with out near the talent of the teams I just spoke of. Just my opinion and everybody has one. I hope they make the national championship I am all over the other side whoever it is.

frazer43, I agree. ND was 8 seconds from winning. Texas beat Ohio State and Texas Tech both, at the time, were top 10 teams. Bad teams are playing USC too close for too long for them to continue as #1.

IMo usc should be #1 and should be until beaten.But i do think texas or va tech could beat them,but texas is a better offensive team and has the better,more experienced QB.I honestly believe TEXAS wins it all.

Seriously I think if USC played the schedule of an Ohio State or a texas or even Miami I don't think they would even be in the the top ten. But USC plays Colby Cheese Tech and Kraft University so they are unbeaten and it is what it is. Once again just my opinion. Remember everybody has one and I think USC is not that good. Good but not great how is that.

USC is the best team by far. They will win the Rose bowl by a TD at the very least. Too much talent on this team. Texas is nowhere near the level of USC. In fact, I think Notre Dame and VT are both more talented than Texas and both would win at a neutral site. Texas plays in a very weak big 12, they play cupcakes, Texas Tech is a joke, prolly the worst top ten team I've see in recent years, therefore Texas blowing out tech means nothing to me. What you are failing to realize is USC went into a very tough environment in south bend and won the game, yes only by 3 pts but they won the game. And they did so like a champion, converting a huge 4th and 9 as Leinert saw somethign in the defense, audibled and delivered a strike to Jarett. ND is battle tested, they're schedule is the toughest in all of football and they just dont get enough respect. Charlie Weis is a genious, this ND team should be playing USC again for the Rose bowl. Next year ND has a very good shot at winning it all, and Brady Quinn will win hte heisman. Cant say enough about the job weis has done already. As for this year, USC is clear cut number 1 Texas has no business being mentioned with them whatsoever. Since ND cant make it to the rose bowl I would love to see VT play USC, they will give them the best challenge, but USC still wins, just too good. If it ends up being Texas and USC expect USC to win this game rather easily.

Sagarin NCAA football ratings has Texas almost one point better than USC. USC has played a slightly tougher schedule than Texas.

Dunkel has USC 2 points better than Texas.

People talk about the weak Big 12. USC hasn't played world beaters either. They won @ ND. Texas won at Ohio St.

IMO Texas has the better defense. Defense wins games. At this point in the season I'd take Texas over USC. I'd like them much more getting 7 points.

in my opinion USC has had to rally with the help of the refs (notre dame) to win the previous 3 games while the othe two or three have played as good opps. or better and won big.

Did you guys see the same game I watched on TV between USC and NOTRE DAME??? It is just a sport but do you guys think that all the media, publics and coaches said/thought it was ok to cheat when BUSH pushed Leinart into the end zone. If you are good enough to win 28 games in a row and ranked number 1 for 2 seasons long, you dont have to cheat to win. USC's game should have an asterick to it. IF the ref saw the push, the game will probably go into overtime assuming USC made the field goal after the penalty. The way ND moved the ball against USC's all day and played at home, i like ND chance better than the cheaters fron Southern CAl. MAYBE the computer ranked USC no. 2 for a reason.

everybody wants to jump all over teams saying their schedule is weak or whatever....usc put 70 on ark, 42 in the first half which is more than aub, geo or ala scored on them all game. do you know how tough it is to win 29 games in a row?? sorry they don't blow every team out but they played hawaii who's been to three bowls in a row and arkansas, an SEC team and ND as their non-conf games so far, not bad. hell if they'd have played alabama three years ago they would have been bashed for that, they can't control how these teams play, they still scheduled a major conference opponent!

This is a new year. Oklahoma and Texas are two totally different teams this year than they were last year. I don't buy into this so and so beat so and so and what not.

I bet when USC plays UCLA & California they will be back at #1 in the BCS. Texas doesn't have any tough games left so at end of the season USC #1, Texas #2 if both stay undefeated.
