  • Brad Lidge = Worst Playoff Relief Pitcher Ever?

The 1927 Yankees weren't the best team ever. What everyone fails to realize is that the year before, with the exact same team, they lost to the Cardinals in the World Series.

Can't Play him the rest of the series, he will have both HR's in his mind. Shouldn't have put him in anyway (IMHO)
        Good Luck to everyone

        Clark: What's steroids?
Richie: Something that makes your pee-pee smaller.
Clark: There must be steroids in macaroni!

Short memories around here. Lidge was unbelievable against the Cardinals last year in the NLCS.

I agree. Sport fans only remember short term. For the most part he's had one bad inning. It's unfortunate the timing of that inning.

I am rooting for the Sox, but I would rather have lidge in the 9th than bobby jenks any day of the week!

Anyone can have a bad playoff or World Series. Even though he wasn't a pitcher, check out Ted Williams' dismal stats in the WS. One must consider the whole picture including pitchers;anyone can get lit up;its just unfortunate that it happened during the WS.

Williams would probably get my vote.

As mentioned on ESPN. Tom Niedenfuer in 1985 vs. the Dodgers had a very shaky playoff performance.

Prior to his steroid abuse Barry Bonds had a dismal playoff record.
