    Welcome to the new NFL

    National FLAG League

When did the refs become part of the game? It seems there's a flag in just about every play.

I'm not whining because of one team getting bad calls against them

The number of penalties being called in games this season is amazing.

I don't kmow the average penalties but in games where there was more than 15 accepted penalties.

Games with more than 15 penalties

              1989 50
              1990 42
              1991 44
              1992 46
              1993 41
              1994 60
              1995 64
              1996 73
              1997 61
              1998 84
              1999 71
              2000 58
              2001 42
              2002 62
              2003 68
              2004 93
              2005 47

Clearly last year and so far this year the refs are calling the games much tigher.

Amazing you started this thread Frank .. Sitting here with my brother watching these games today and I was just telling him I do not enjoy foots half as much as I did before ..

You look mean at the QB and you get a flag .. No tauting ... remember Singletary??? Samurai Mike .... I LIKE THIS PARTY ... YOU ARE NOT COMING IN MY HOUSE ... I AM GOING TO ROCK YOU REAL GOOD ... They would spit on the ball when they were on defense .... Tarkenton would not be able to play today ..

I think it is disgusting what they did to the game ... I do not like instant reply either .. i know the argument is as long as the call is right .. Bull, it should be called on the Field .. it is a bad call live with it ... it will even itself out ...

Spark, I couldn't agree with you more. The rules protecting the QB are DISGRACEFUL. I'm all for protecting the QB but they've gone overboard. Ive seen some extremely questionable calls against D linemen when they've barely barely bumped the QB

I used to hate replay. I like it now.

That being said. They should not allow replays to be shown in the stadium. Let the refs call the game. If their's a questionable call let the coaches and players decide. Not what they see on the replay screen in the stadium.

Tuck Rule is terrible. These officials have been over the top this year. Ticky tack bullshit.

IMO another rule that is a joke is the breaking the goal line plane. Let the play finish out. I'm tired of watching players reach over the goal line from the 2 yard line.
