On the total- Rangers/ Islanders are 4-1-1 Over in last 6. I am big on the goalie for the Rangers. The line may move to 6 1/2. But I am not biting on the over- but taking a stand on the under. I know a service comp was on the over- I am not falling for the glitz.

NY Islanders (2-3-0) at NY Rangers (4-1-2), 7:00 pm EDT

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Madison Square Garden has been very kind to the New York Rangers early on.

The Rangers will try to finish off a dominant homestand in winning fashion Wednesday when they host the New York Islanders in the first of three games in nine days between the two clubs.

Led by rookie goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, the Rangers have won the first three games of the homestand by a combined score of 13-2. The 23-year-old Swede has been in net for each of the three wins and posted his first career shutout Monday against Florida.

In a 4-0 victory over the Panthers, Lundqvist stopped 23 shots and was backed by a dominant offensive performance by the Rangers, who held a 49-23 advantage in shots and converted 3-of-8 p-ower p-lays.

Fedor Tyutin notched the third goal of his career late in the first period to give Lundqvist all he needed and Jaromir Jagr provided some breathing room with a pair of power-play tallies in the second.

Jagr is tied for second in the league with six goals and is one of four players with 10 points.

The Rangers' surge has them sitting atop the Atlantic Division while the Islanders are nestled in last after a 5-1 loss to Philadelphia on Saturday.

Mike York pulled the Islanders into a 1-1 tie with his first goal of the season just 4:46 in but the Flyers scored four unanswered goals over the next 27:07 to run away with the win.

For the Islanders--All of the damage was done against reserve netminder Garth Snow. Starter Rick DiPietro suffered a concussion Thursday at Washington but has returned to practice and may be available Wednesday. I am waiting till game time to see if DiPietro plays and see if the total rises to 6 1/2 before making my Under bet.
