Man I've been terrible so far, but I'm learning new ways to look at games as I go along. I'm just a newbie when it comes to capping games, but I know I will improve. Wish the best of luck to everyone and enjoy a wonderful night. I got to try to make up what I am down here in football. It will be tough, but I'll give it my best shot.
Cardinals -138 for 7 units
Chris Carpenter takes the mound and has been solid all seaon. The Cards aren't going to go away without a fight as they probably felt this year was their chance to win the WS. Carpenter has only given up 2 runs in 14 innings in the playoffs and expect about the same from him tonight. Carpenter is 12-1 on the road this seaon and I think Pettite gets hit here again tonight. Cards win this one by 2 or 3.
Indy -13.5 for 5 units
Stl/Indy over 51 -105 for 5 units
Teaser Indy -6.5/Over 44.5 for 5 units
The Colts being 13.5-point favorites tonight is an odd line. But, don't be afraid to lay it as I think its high for a reason. The Colts should explode tonight. While last year's Colts ran up the score on plenty of opponents and covered plenty of huge spreads, this year's version is only averaging 21 points per game. They've won by two touchdowns or more three times already because the defense has been great. I find it amazing how much this defense has improved from last year as I believe its now the best in the league. Beyond that, the over/under for tonight's game is just 51, which seems low if the Colts are going to blow the Rams out. St. Louis is not a good team and they have a poor defense, but Marc Bulger and company should be able to put some points on the board. If they can score 21 points on the Colts (the Rams are averaging 26 points per game) Indianapolis would have to score at least 35 to cover the spread. And if both of those things happen, then the over will be hit without much problem. In other words, I'm taking the Colts tonight and am having a lot more confidence in the teams combining for more than 51 points.
