I don't ever recall a game day with more wilder or stranger finishes to games.
USC/ND
On 4th and 9 what if the ND d-back turns around a split second sooner. ND would have won the game
On first and goal from the 3 if Lienart didn't fumble the ball out of bounds the clock would have continued to run. ND would have won.
On the final play of the game if Bush didn't Reggie Bush didn't push Lienart into the endzone I don't think he would have scored. ND would have won.
Penn St/Michigan
After taking the lead Penn State allowed a 40 yard kickoff return almost to midfield.
On Michigan's final drive the first play from scrimmage the Mich receiver landed out of bounds. Giving them additional crucial yardage.
On the next play the refs put 2 seconds back on the clock. The 2 seconds were pivotal because Michigan ran their last play win 1 second remaining in the game.
Ohio State/Michigan St
At the end of the first half Michigan St was leading 17-7. They were driving. With 18 seconds remaining and inside the Ohio St 20 the MSU QB called for the spike to stop the clock. A coach from the MSU team sent on the FG team. There was mass confusion. MSU only had 10 players on the field. The kick was blocked and run back for a TD by Ohio St. Instead of MSU leading at half 24-7 they lead 17-14.
Wisc/Minn
Minnesota took a 34-24 lead with 3:27 remaining in the game. Of course Minny's prevent defense prevented them from winning. They allowed Wisky to score a TD in 1:17 seconds.
On Minnesota's next possession they had 4th and 1 with 38 seconds remaining. Why did Minnesota's punt team snap the ball with 17 seconds still on the play clock? They could have run the clock down to 21 seconds.
When the punter muffed the ball all he had to do was pick it up and run out of the endzone. Taking a safety. Minny was up 3 points.
WHAT A SATURDAY!!!!
It's interesting that 3 of the games was in the Big 10
