  • Reggie Bush reason for that TD

Lienart was stopped, and wasn't going to score until Reggie Bush came and pushed him in.

I missed that. I saw Lienart spin into the endzone. It was a great ending to a great game.

watch the replays....great move by Bush just shoving him in. Although not sure if it's legal or not.

Also, if you watch the replay, you'll see that USC is lined up in an illegal formation, with the TE covered on the top of the screen and too many men on the line of scrimmage. I'm certain the refs never even saw it, and I didn't notice it until I just saw the replay on ESPN

I didn't mean it didn't happen I meant I didn't notice Bush shoving him in.

Bush is a GREAT football player. Explosive.

I know, I know Frank......I was just saying to keep an eye on it next time you see the replay. Sorry for the confusion.

And what I didn't realize is that you can't Aide a player into the endzone like that. It should have been a 15 yard penalty!

No sour grapes though..don't think you could call that in that situation, but I wasn't aware of that rule until I was watching ESPN.

Did ESPN say that Rook? I thought that was the rule, and started screaming it right away. Of course, no ref is going to call that, especially in that situation. I won on ND 1st Half, ND for the game, but being a big Irish fan, was crushed when that happened.

I think the refs weren't sure what was going on either. For example, if the ball was fumbled out of bounds, why did they restart the clock after it was placed at the 1?

No sour grapes here either. ND missing a FG and even more importantly, giving up that play on 4th and 9 are the reasons they lost.

Did they start the clock? Even the announcers were confused. Although, USC didn't to it. I could not understand why the announcers were calling for USC to spike the ball.

Yeah, that's the rule, and thats what ESPN said as well....it was an illegal play by Bush, but again, he did exactly what anyone else would have done.

As far as the final play. The referee called that Leinhart was down at the one and the ground caused the fumble. That's why the clock started.

The reason the announcers were calling for the USC to spike is from what it looked like Carroll was calling for the spike (a decoy) and the announcers bit on it.

                      Fantastic game.

Notre Dame is back. I can take that from this game and know that they are officially back. What a GREAT recruiting game for Notre Dame. What prospect in their right mind goes to that game or even watches it and says no to Notre Dame after that magical 4+ hours???

I'm heartbroken and thrilled all at the same time.

Great day for Notre Dame if you look at it from the big picture!

You're probably right, Rook. However, if ND wins this game, there is a good chance they play for the national title, assuming they get past Tennessee.

me? you've been up just as much as me. LOL.

I went to bed around 2:30, woke up around 7:30. That's all I really need is 5-6 hours a night. I'm so used to getting up at 6:30 or 7:00 for work, that I couldn't sleep past 8:30 anyway unless I were in a coma.

Plus Jaden gets up, and she has to go out. I gotta teach her how to use the toilet. lol
