Forgotten in the ending of the football game was if Lienart didn't fumble the ball out of bounds USC would have lost the game. Not until I saw the reply did I know why the ref was stopping the clock.

A huge break for USC. A BAD break for ND.

I thought for a second that it bounced into the end zone which would have been a touch back....

I'm numb about it...that 4th and 8 play, an inch up or down and that ball is deflected.

But that's fate. It just wasn't meant to be.
