Nascar: Athletes?

Anyone watching outside the lines on ESPN? It's about Nascar and whether or not the pit crew members are "Athletes". You should see the College Football and NFL Players that are now on or involved with pit crews. It's amazing and they are following some teams around and showing their workouts. They all say and the ex football players are 1st to say it, that they are W/OUT a doubt. Athletes!

The training they do is just like football.

I know nobody else thinks they are but it's interesting. They recruit at College's for Athletes!

I agree with ya Wayne. I'm watching it too. I'm not a nascar junky like KB but there's alot more work involved than most people know. Especially those guys that go over the wall.

I think he might have been on the Super Bowl team when they lost to G.B.

I think the pit crew are athletes. I don't think drivers are. But we've debated this issue before.

That's why i posted this frank. After all the earlier discussions i thought it was interesting to see them do a show about it. You might think pit crew guys are athletes but i bet most think they are not, just like the driver!

Sterling marlin is about as much of an athlete as i am. look just because you do something doesnt mean your an athlete. i gamble on sports, so does that make me an athlete??? i think not. its like poker or chess players, calling themselves athletes. they are activities not sports. get over it. neck car drives arent athletes.

You can find NON Athletes in EVERY sport but it doesn't mean the sport in general doesn't have them!
