I don't like the term GOY because it is overused. But this is my GOY in CFB and I use that label because it will be the only one I have this season which is the way it should be. Off the soapbox and on to this weeks card.
TOP PLAYS FOR THE BIRD
All times EST)
GOY!!!!!!!!!
7:45pm FLORIDA STATE -6.5 at Virginia
UVA is a team that is spiraling out of control in a hurry. They have a tremendous amount of injuries to key players. Two starters on the O-Line, including preseason All-American Ferguson, will likely sit out again w/ injuries. A third O-Line starter Butler will be on suspension for last weeks frustration cheap shot in the BC game. The secondary is thin w/ injuries at both corners and one starter is out at LB while over hyped LB Brooks is questionable this week as well. This team lacks leadership and heart and it all starts at the top. Head Coach Al Groh is being dragged across the carpet by the VA newspapers for lying about injuries, closing practise and making asst. coaches unavailable to the media annoiting himself the sole spokesman and figure head of the program. On top of that, he turns every question into a confrontation as if he's still dealing w/ the NY media. Yo Al, this is VA, a mans word and his handshake mean something down here! In short, the Cavs are in disarray. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Noles are playin' great D, have an offense that gets better each week as their QB progresses. The Noles will waltz into C'ville and smack the shit out of the Cavs. The Cavs may only win one more game this year, Temple, and will get crushed in this one.
Noon ALABAMA -12.5 at Ole' Miss.
This one has blowout written all over it. Ole' Miss. will be lucky to score in this one.
3:00pm TOLEDO -20 at Ball State
Toledo will score at will against a porous Ball State defense. While Toledos defense leaves much to be desired, Ball States offense is well.... offensive. Blowout city!
3:30pm Troy State/UL-Monroe UNDER 48.5
Both teams struggle on offense and Troy State plays tough defense. The number is too high and this one goes way under. Also, TROY STATE-2 would be a strong lean here.
10:00pm COLORADO STATE -2 at BYU
Colorado State simply has too many weapons for BYU to keep pace. Two is a small number to lay here.
GL to all this weekend! :uzi:
