Tonights game features two of the better M.A.C. teams. N. Illinois off to a slugish start losing road games aganist Big Ten Teams Michigan 17 - 33, Northwestern 37 - 38 and conference game Akron 42 - 48. As you can see they have been competitive in those defeats. Their lone win was a home against Tenn Tech who they beat 42 - 3.
No. Ill. returns 12 starters 6 on each side of the ball. This team recorded a 9 - 3 record under H.C. Joe Novak. They don't have a returning Q.B. but Phil Horvath got in alot of experience last year. Horvath guided this team last year with a big win over Bowling Green. So don't look at this Q.B as just another backup. Norvath also has a first team running back returning in Garrett Wolfe.
Miami,Ohio just played last week aganist a weak Cincinnati team so don't let that score deceive you. Miami has beaten conference foe Kent St. 27 - 10 and losses against C. Michigan 37 - 38 and Ohio St. 14 - 34.
Josh Betts and Brandon Murphy wasn't to me all that impressive in that win aganist Cincinnati. Shane Montgomery will be facing a veteran Coach of the MAC in Joe Novak.....
N. Ill- 15 - 3 S/U & 11 - 4 ATS in Huskie Stadium the last 3 years.
18 - 5 S/U & 15 - 8 ATS the L6/Years in conference home games.
No. Ill is also 13 - 7 ATS as a home favorite.
Am going with a team that has played a tougher schedule heading into conference play.
