  • NHL and books take on new rules:

    Quote from thegreek (Olympic):

total score includes overtime and penalty shootout. In the case of penalty shootout ONLY 1 POINT will be awarded to the winner.

Can someone explain this to me before I put 1 unit on over for every NHL game today??

    Thank you

Let's say a game ends in a 3-3 tie. After a shoutout the team win 9-8. For OVER/UNDER purposes they will score the game as 7 goals (3+3+1). Not 17.

This year, games can't end in a tie, they will go to a shootout if still tied after Overtime. The team that wins in the shootout will be credited with 1 goal which will count against the total.

Right...there will be two seperate lines you can bet.

One is very similar to soccer. You can bet the side or for it to end in a draw. Of course if there is OT, you lose if you picked the side.

Or you can bet side/total with OT, which would only give one more goal to the total, and obviously the winner in OT or shootout wins the side.
