  • Tuesday Baseball and NCAA Football - 10/4

These are my plays for Tuesday. Fantasy NBA players, look at my thread about my fantasy NBA league!

    MLB

3 STAR: San Diego (+$178) OVER ST. LOUIS
(Listing Peavy and Carpenter)($300 to win $534)

3 STAR: Boston (-$103) OVER CHICAGO
(Listing Clement and Contreras)($309 to win $300)

    2005 MLB RECORD

    10 STAR RECORD 2-2 (-3.13 UNITS)
    5 STAR RECORD 55-46-1 (+50.82 UNITS)
    3 STAR RECORD 71-74 (+28.11 UNITS)
    2 STAR RECORD 82-99-3 (-15.75 UNITS)
    1 STAR RECORD 46-70 (-11.29 UNITS)

    OVERALL RECORD 256-291-4 (+46.76 UNITS)
    A $100 player would up $4676

    NCAA Football

2 STAR: Troy State (+2.5) OVER NORTH TEXAS
    Risking $220 to win $200
    Line from BetUS on 10/4/05

This is not the same North Texas team of the past few years. The Mean Green offense is currently ranked dead last in the nation in total offense at 188 yards per game, dead last in passing offense at 85 yards per game and they are second to last in the nation in scoring averaging under 8 points per game. Even the vaunted Mean Green running game is no where near what it used to be averaging only 103 yards per outing ranking 92nd in the nation. Troy State has not played very well this season either, but I think they are a bit better on both sides of the ball than North Texas. The problem for Troy has been turnovers. If they hold onto the ball, they should be able to win this game with better talent. One big advantage I see in this match up is in the return game. Troy ranks in the top 30 in both kick-off and punt returns, while North Texas is once again one of the worst in the nation. Everyone knows that North Texas has been very tough to beat at home in conference games, and everyone seems to be on them tonight yet the line is dropping? I like the Trojans to get it done here!

    2005/2006 NCAA FOOTBALL RECORD

    5 STAR RECORD 3-6 (-19.00 UNITS)
    3 STAR RECORD 7-3 (+11.10 UNITS)
    2 STAR RECORD 2-1 (+1.80 UNITS)
    1 STAR RECORD 3-2 (+0.80 UNITS)

    OVERALL RECORD 15-12 (-5.30 UNITS)
    A $100 player would down $530

    Good luck,
    John

Good luck, John. That's weird how UNT's running game has fallen off so. I wonder what happened to Patrick Cobb? I think he led the nation in rushing a year or two ago. Or is it their offensive line that's the problem?

Nothing happened to Cobb he has an inexperienced weak offensive line.

                  Hey Ez,
I have been following your picks and I appreciate the constant information. I have a quick question on your NCAA pick though. Isn't there a bit more value in the money line, since the line is so small. I am new to sports betting so there may be something I do not know. Just trying to learn. But if you could answer that, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Either way, I like the pick. I am going with Troy St. on the money line + 114. I am a University of Tulsa follower and they handled North Texas on the road very easily. So I am not worried about home field advantage. Plus, the weak offensive line of North Texas has greatly hindered the entire offense.

Isn't it amazing that North Texas has the 2004 NCAA rushing leader and the 2003 rushing leader, yet they can't run the ball?

                          captcane,

At such a low line I would rather have the two points just in case its a very tight game. Its really up to you if you would rather have the few extra $ or a few points.

                          Best of luck!
                          Good luck,

N Tex has the distinction of having the first pair of NCAA rushing champions in the same backfield at the same time..........

2003 Cobbs----cobbs hurt in 2004, back up ran beserk with rushing yardage---2005 both of em back, and they are dead last in just about every offensive category---go figure...kapt
