  • Major League Baseball Best Bet of the Year

I ended the regular season in a big slump and farted away a year's worth of profits ending up 16-19 for a miniscule loss -0.05 units but was 2-0 on my only two double play 2* selections. I think the post season is actually easier to play and more formful and will be more aggressive. The 4* play will be my biggest baseball play of the year and it's on a dog.

    Playoffs 0-0

4* Angels to win series +130
This is shocking value. The Yankees price is ludicrously inflated because of their reputation. Pitching rules in the playoffs and the Yankees starting staff of rookies and washed up veterans doesn't match up well with the Angels. New York has the greatest closer in the game but the Angels' Rodriguez is very strong and has playoff experience. Yankees lineup is obviously awesome but Anaheim also has bats. My own personal line on this seires is Angels -140 so I'm getting an amazing 70 points of value. Best bet of the season.

    2* Angels -126
I won't repeat the analysis but I love Colon over old man Mussina. Can't wait to go against old man Johnson.

1* White Sox to win series +130
I like this dog too. Sox have home field advantage and played sensationally after fighting off the potential choke. Huge pitching mismatch for the Sox in this series and their weak link, the closer, is evened up by Boston's lousy bullpen. Pitching beats hitting in the post-season.

    1* White Sox -107
Contreras vs. Clement? One guy, Copntreras, is in great form. The other has been lousy. I don't love this play as much as the others because I fear Contreras is due for a letdown but that factor aside, he's the better pitcher right now.

You are so right Griswold. Not often in the playoffs can you make a play on a dog with the home field advantage. I'm on them with you.

GL on your plays gris. I'd be very leery of the White Sox though. You don't need great pitching to shut down this offense which really struggles to score runs. While Contrearas has been great in the 2nd half, Buerhle/Garland/Garcia have been hit fairly hard the past 6 weeks and I honestly believe Ozzie will cost them at least one game in this series.
