The Tribe had a great season and will certainly only get better in coming years as they are a vey young team.
That being said and although as a Red Sox fan, I was hoping they would lose this weekend, I felt is was sort of sad to see them come up short in just about scoring chance they had.
They could have swept the series or at least won two games if they had scored just a run or two during some of the great scoring chances they had.
I know this is show biz, not realistic and nothing can be done about it, but to see Cleveland NOt make the playoffs and a really mediocre team like the Padres to get in, it seems a little unfair.
To change the subject, I love the pounding the Sox are putting on the Yanks so far today;I sure hope they save some of those runs for the White Sox, as the latter will be a very tough team for them;the Yanks don't have any cakewalk either against the Angels.

I agree. I was pulling for the Indians. They couldn't seem to get the timely hit the last week of the season.

yanks do have the better bats, but Angels have a good playoff rotation with Colon, Washburn, and Lackey and one of the best bullpens in the league. It will be a great series.

Frank-somehow I just don't have the feeling that the Red Sox are going to face the Yankees this year in the playoffs.
Obviously as a Sox fan, I hope the Yanks are the team which doesn't make it, but it wouldn't be the greatest shock in the world if Red Sox don't make it or for that matter neither one of them.

I think the Red Sox beat the White Sox.

Baseball would love another Sox/Yanks playoff matchup.

When you have been a frustrated diehard Red Sox for 53 years like I have(until last year), any time the Red Sox do a number on the Yanks, it always feels good;I don't care what is at stake if anything. Perhaps in spring training games the feeling is not as strong, but thats it.

The network would LOVE to see Boston/NY

I think it'll be Anaheim/Boston in the ALCS

and St. Louis/Houston in the NLCS

Will be making a large wager on the WHITE Sox in the 1st round.

They are back to hitting good again...and, I believe, they have the best pitching in the AL.

The BoSox starting staff doesn't impress me a bit.
I know they can hit...but they say pitching wins in the postseason.

As a Red Sox fan I hope you are wrong;on the other hand I have the White Sox at 22-1 to win WS(made at beginning of season) and Anaheim at 11-1;thus, I hope if Sox don't get there, that either Chicago or Anaheim do.
I also have St. Louis at 5-1 and a little on Yankees at 2-1(hope I lose this one).
I already lost with Baltimore and Dodgers(remember the great start both had?).

I wish I could say I bet if for $1000;alas it is only for $100, but still, it will be fun to watch, and if they win it, a couple of grand or so profit never hurts.
ps HOWEVER, my first allegiance is to my Bo Sox!!!
