5 STAR: Yale (+9.5) OVER WAKE FOREST
This is the first game of the year for Wake Forest and they only return one starter from last years team. Yale is a solid team, and they played Oklahoma State tough in their opener losing by only 9 points as a 15 point underdog. Yale 13-2 against the spread in road games after 1 or more consecutive losses over the last 3 seasons and 18-3 against the spread as a road underdog over the last 3 seasons. Yale has a chance to win this game straight up, so I will gladly take the points!
5 STAR: Houston (+1.5) OVER GOLDEN STATE
The Rockets pushed last night, losing by 6 points at Portland as they shot a pathetic 36% from the field and Yao was in early foul trouble. I look for a better showing tonight against a Golden State team that the Rockets have owned over the last few years. Houston is 20-4 straight up against Golden State since 1996, including 12-0 straight up at Golden State in that span. Even though this is a back to back for Houston, they will play inspired ball tonight after letting a winnable game slip past them last night. Golden State is 0-9 against the spread as a home favorite of 3 points or less over the last 3 seasons. Houston is 8-2 against the spread as a road underdog of 3 points or less over the last 3 seasons. Rockets win!
