Good luck as always Chuck. The only way this can work at this point without wishing against you tonight for me is if the Yanks win tonight, sox win the next two, and then head to Yankee staudium and again suck the life out of new york avenging the Bucky F***ing Dent Homer run in the one game playoff!Wow, the more I think about it - that would be awesome! But as I said - even though I'll be rooting against your POD - Good luck to you Chuck!!

Nothing could be as painful as the way the Sox dusted the Yanks last year! GO SOX!

Gonzalez struck out the sides the other day with bases loaded against the Cubs!!! Milwaukee has nothing to play for and can't wait for the season to end!!
Chuck I would never question your pick because you are the best baseball capper up here.
However I do have to take exception about your statement about Milwaukee having nothing to play for and can't wait for the season to end. I think attached would indicate otherwise:

GAME: Milwaukee Brewers (80-79) at Pittsburgh Pirates (65-94).

                        TIME: Friday, 7:05 p.m. EDT.

The Milwaukee Brewers hope to move closer to securing their first winning season in 13 years as they open a regular season-ending three-game series with the last-place Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park.

The Brewers' 2-0 win over Cincinnati on Thursday got them within one win from their first non-losing season since 1992, when they went 92-70 in the American League.

"I know for each man in here, they feel the same way I do. I don't want to be called a loser again," Milwaukee manager Ned Yost said. "It's important to us and it's important to our organization."

The Brewers went 7-3 on their last homestand of the season, assuring the final weekend would be meaningful, at least in their eyes.

The Brewers are clear about one thing; they aren't thinking about taking just one game at PNC Park "because .500 is even. It's not necessarily a winning season," Milwaukee pitcher Gary Glover said.

                        "Everybody wants a winning season."

So, the Brewers will be shooting for at least two out of three in Pittsburgh, if not a sweep.

"Those guys out in that locker room, they've brought respectability back to this organization," said Yost. "I don't believe there's an (opposing) team that enjoys coming to Milwaukee anymore for a series or looks forward to Milwaukee coming to their hometown."

The Pirates are wrapping up their 13th straight losing season, the longest current drought in the majors.

Left-hander Oliver Perez is hoping to end his difficult season on a positive note.

Perez pitched six strong innings in Saturday's 8-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers, earning his first win in more than three months.

Making his fourth start since coming off the disabled list, Perez gave up one run and five hits to win for the first time since June 21. Perez went on the DL after breaking his left big toe while kicking a laundry cart following an ineffective outing in St. Louis on June 26.

In his first three starts after being activated, the 24-year-old left-hander lasted a total of 8 2-3 innings, allowing eight runs, 10 hits and nine walks.

Interim manager Pete Mackanin said he was impressed with Perez's performance against the Dodgers.

"That's the best we've seen him in a long time," Mackanin said. "You could tell by his swagger he felt pretty good about himself. That told us a lot."

STANDINGS: Brewers - 3rd place, 17 GB, NL Central. Pirates - 6th place, 32 GB, NL Central.

BREWERS PROBABLE STARTER: Doug Davis (11-11, 2.76 ERA). Davis suffered a 2-0 loss to St. Louis on Saturday, allowing two runs and four hits over eight innings. The left-hander is 3-2 with a 3.79 ERA in 10 career starts against the Pirates.

PIRATES PROBABLE STARTER: Perez (7-5, 5.97 ERA). Perez is 1-1 with a 6.35 ERA in three career starts against the Brewers.

OFFENSIVE LEADERS: Brewers - Brady Clark, .308 avg. and 93 runs; Carlos Lee, 32 HRs and 113 RBIs; Bill Hall, 18 SBs. Pirates - Jason Bay, .307 avg., 32 HRs, 99 RBIs, 109 runs and 21 SBs.

                        SEASON SERIES: Brewers, 8-5.

STREAKS AND NOTES: Brewers - RHP Derrick Turnbow has 38 saves, one shy of the team record set by Danny Kolb last season. ... SS J.J. Hardy is the 10th rookie in Brewers history to record 50 RBIs in a season. The last was OF Scott Podsednik, who had 53 in 2003. C B.J. Surhoff set the rookie record with 68 in 1987. ... LHP Davis is 3-6 with a 4.52 ERA in 15 road starts this season. Pirates - Pittsburgh is 6-15 in its last 21 games at PNC Park. ... OF Bay has 27 RBIs in 26 games in September. ... Rookie OF Nate

                                Cheese~

Thanks for the tip on the Phillies, helped me stay away!

                                Onion!

Yer absolutely right, nothing can happen this weekend nearly as painful as what us "true" Yankee fans experienced last Fall. In many ways things will never be the same in the baseball universe.
I also offer a kind reminder that the Bombers still hold a slight lead in World Championships!

Good Luck to everyone this weekend!

THANKS CHUCK! For all the baseball plays throughout the marathon of a season!
