PHEWWWWWWWWWWWW......i can't recall handicapping games every night like this on a daily basis. And with hoops around the corner i guess i best get used to this.
Well a split last night nailing the over but Air Force just couldn't hit that open man down field.
Now on to the Friday night Stinker. The Pitt Panthers with Coach Wannstedt had so much promise when the year started with 16 returning starters including QB Tyler Palko. But things this year just hasn't panned out for both HC Wannstedt and this team....Walt Harris guided this team to 5 straight bowl games. I don't see this Pitt team going to any bowl game this year. Pitt has dropped games to N.Dame 21 -42, Ohio of all teams 10 -16, Nebraska 6 - 7...and finally won one aganist youngstown st. 41 - 0......Confidence builder i think not........This Rutgers team will give the pitt panthers all they want in New Brunswick, NJ tonight. Rutgers opened up againist Illinois and dropped a 3 pt heartbreaker is which they lead till the last minute. Beat Villanova 38 - 6 then went on the road to beat a hapless Buffalo Team 17 - 3.
Rutgers coming off a bye week hasn't posted the best numbers as they come into this game with a record of 4 - 17 - 1 ATS the last 22 games after a bye. They also open the Big East home openers with a 1 - 9 ATS since 1995. Rutgers also is 0 - 5 ATS the last 5 against Pitt. The closest lost being in 2003 32 - 42 and a 12 pt. loss back in 2000 17 -29....Other then that pitt has manhandled the Scarlet Knights.
As much as i hate to take a team who has played a tougher schedule am gong to go with :
PITTSBURGH PANTHERS + 1.5 ( 3 UNITS )
PITT/ RUTGERS - OVER 48.5 ( 5 UNITS )
