4-1 last week in college and 1-0 in NFL; hope to keep it rolling this weekend
2* Bowling Green -28 1/2
This is the big play. BG has been a BiG disappointment this year. They're only 1-2, giving up 56 in a loss at Wisconsin and getting blown out at Boise. They're lone win was against Ball State (an awful team). But this is their first home game of the year! I think they're going to take it out on a pathetic Temple team. BG QB Omar Jacobs was a Heisman wannabe until the Bosie lost and will want to rebuild his stats and the team will crush Temple. Score comparison: Wisconsin beat BG by 14 but beat Temple by 65. Lay the big number. 42-0 by halftime.
1* Wisconsin -17 1/2
Believe it or not, Indiana has beaten the Badgers two in a row. The wins were in 01 and 02 as the two schools didn't play the last two years. But the memory is fresh enough that Alvarez won't allow a letdown here. Indiana is one of the worst 3-0 teams in America. Calhoun runs for 200 and the Hoosiers score no more than 10.
1* Alabama +3 1/2
Biggest game of Mike Shula's college career as a Bama win puts them in the SEC drivers seat and gives them an outside shot at a national championship. Straight up win.
1* Army +10 1/2
One of my favorite angles is to play a team one week after a loss in which the team showed improvement. Army gave Iowa State a real good fight and is rested because of a bye. UConn is on the road and hasn't beaten anybody (I don't count Buffalo and Liberty as being actual teams).
1* Penn State +3
Big letdown possible for Minnesota after grueling home OT win over Purdue. Penn State may be the third best team in the Big 10.
1* TCU -2
My shakiest pick as the line keeps going down like the world knows something that I don't. I think TCU is way better than New Mexico and I know they're tough at home.
1* Memphis +3 1/2
Everybody is overreacting to the injuries to Memphis' top two QBs. The third stringer looked great last week. UTEP is overrated and due for a letdown.
Posting two NFL picks now because the line will move by Sunday. I'll write them up later.
