Didn't post any plays last weekend cause I didn't play anything. Two reasons, didn't like the card and attended a Catholic wedding... therefore I was not sober all weekend. How bout' them HOKIES though. That was a good ole' fashion behind the barn ass kickin'. Ya can't just strut up into Lane Stadium and not be ready to go. I've said it before on here and I'll say it again..... when they crank up "Enter Sandman" and the Hokie Bird struts out of the tunnel, somebody's bout' to get hit in the mouth!
On to this weeks card, all times are EST.
The Birds top plays for week 5:
Noon VA TECH -10 at West "By God" Virginia
Folks, if your a fan of violent, bone jarrin', teeth rattlin', smash mouth football.... this is your game of the year in CFB. Two teams that pride themselve on being physical and just don't like one another in a ferocious border war. Hide the women and children cause their will be some serious punichment handed out in this one both on the field and in the stands. Two years ago, the HOKIES were ranked #3 as they are now, were coming off a 51-7 pasting of Syracuse, same score as last weeks ass kickin' of Ga. Tech and they went to Morgantown and got hit in the mouth, losing 28-7. That will not happen again. There will be no couch burnings in Morgantown this time. Let's break this one down in its' simplest form: WVU has a good defense, the HOKIES have a dominating defense. The HOKIES have a huge edge on offense, special teams and overall talent from top to bottom on the roster. WVU's crowd, heart and effort will not be able to make up the difference. Lay the 10 points as the HOKIES will open up another can of whoop ass this week winning by 4 touchdowns.
5pm UTAH STATE -2 at Idaho
Idaho was shut out by Hawaii last week(28-0). That's right Hawaii. Nuff said. Can't believe we only have to lay two points here. Take it for what it is.... a gift.
5pm OREGON -7 at Stanford
Stanford lost to I-AA UC-Davis(20-17) and their offense only put up 3 pts. in that game. That deserves a Yo. Add to that their QB is questionable this week and their D gives up 30 points a game..... Yo, this one is gonna get ugly! The Ducks QB Clemmons will light them up like a XMAS tree and Stanford will struggle to score.
7pm Arizona at CALIFORNIA -16.5
Arizona can't run the ball which will make them one dimensional in this game, even more so while their gettin' their brains kicked in. CAL is very solid on both sides of the ball. A stout D, an excellent running game and a QB who's getting better every week. This one has blow out written all over it.
7pm ARKANSAS STATE -3 at UL-Monroe
Absolutely Love this game. UL-Monroe is one of the worst teams in Division I football. They can't stop the run period. Arkansas St. hung 66 on FL Int'l last week and their better than UL-Monroe. Arkansas State has two good RB's in Antonio Warren and Shermar Bracey. They both went over 100 yards last week on 8 and 9 carries respectfully. Yo, we've only gotta lay 3 points here, ya gotta be kiddin' me.
8pm UTEP -3.5 at Memphis
Memphis is one dimensional on offense, and it's a good one in RB DeAngelo Williams. UTEP has a good balanced offense w/ QB Jordan Palmer and RB Tyler Ebell. Defensively they are solid and will load the box on Williams. Williams will not single handedly beat UTEP, nor will he be able to keep them in the game. UTEP by double digits in this one.
GL to all this weekend!
