This is probably going to make me look like an idiot...but what is a fade???

It's when you go against someones pick- If you post Toledo +14 and I fade you then I'm taking Fres. St. -14

So in the polls, the fade has been the successful pick???

Yes, the polls provide a pick. Then the opposite of the polls pick (the fade) is what has been successful. Usually because you're now going against the opinion of the general public which is where you want to be.

the way that fades are being talked about on this forum is that they are going against the majority pick.

For example,

The fade forum tallies up all the services to see what side most of them are on, then they will take the opposite. The reasoning being that services DO NOT win over the long run
