I doubt it but that's OK. Let's try it this way. If Barry Bonds played during the time the Babe played, Bonds would have been lucky to hit half the homeruns the Babe hit, because the ball was strung loosely and the all around pitching was better back then. And don't forget, Bonds gets to play 8 more games a year. Over 19 years, that's 152 more games for Bonds to play. It's like giving Bonds an extra full season to add to his Home Run total.

427 HRs at the age of 30

The last 8 years he has averaged 45 HRs a year.

If he plays to Barry Bonds' age of 41 he has 11 years and 495 HRs left easily.... even if he did just 40 HRs a year. thats another 440 ontop of the 427

He should hit 850-900 in his career pending no injuries

Must mean A-Rod is on the juice, what's saying he wasnt' or isn't...i love A-rod but Bonds has the best OBP, which will never be broke

I quess not, there's only a couple weeks left...He worked out and hit with the team until he was really truely ready....If he wasn't 100%, you would have never seen him comeback this year....

My role model, Pete Rose did them all and is still abetter person than Bonds will ever be!!

              Nothing wrong with gambling.

I just choose not to drink and use drugs. It's a personal choice. my point is that someone who I idolized was a heavy substance abuser, but it in no way affected my choices in life.

I meant no offense by that statement.

True, but Bonds plays in the National League. That means the Polo Grounds with it's spacious outfield from left center to right center. I'm always high.

Ruth only played 3 seasons at polo grounds before yankee stadium was built with that short 314' porch in RF. I would like to see ruth reincarnated and hit 1 home run in giants stadium off major league pitching.

as much as people want to talk about hand eye coordination and greatest hitter of our time blah blah it doesn't change the fact he will break a record he has no business breaking. he's a great hitter, but he's also a dishonest cheating piece of shit and it's a joke for fans he's deceived, lied to and played for fools to support him. no matter how good you are at anything, cheating is cheating. itll be a great day for baseball when arod shatters his steroid induced record

Think of how many hr's Ruth would have hit if he would have takin steroids like Bonds. And if you honestly think that Bonds has never taken steroids you need to get your head out of your ass or buy a big statue from me that I own in New York.
The 1927 Yankees weren't the best team ever. What everyone fails to realize is that the year before, with the exact same team, they lost to the Cardinals in the World Series.

While Bonds is a jerk, he also puts himself a very rigorous off season work out program. If that included juice, we don't know because there never has been concrete evidence. If there had been, don't you think that baseball would have busted him already? They torched Palmerio and he was considered a "great player and a good guy in the MLB" before he was caught.
Ruth would have never lasted in this era very long...he was not one to take very good care of his frame.
I agree I think ARod is going to one day break all of their HR records as long as he stays healthy.

Southern Dandy...why do have some much hatred towards a person you probably never met? To kill someone is very serious statement, especially when you are talking about a game...I am sure that you didn't truely mean for somene to take drastic measures as to kill someone, but come on now.
There are tons of pro athletes that are assholes, but none of them deserved to be shot. If I would have said something similar about McGwire when he was going after Maris' record you and many others would have been all over all me...BTW McGwire has exactly come as come off as "clean player" his testimony before Congress was a absolute joke.
