By the way, listening to press conferences after games on the NFL Network, I have learned these things:

            a) Every opponent is a very good football team.
            b) All winning teams were fortunate to win.
            c) Every victory is a team effort.
            d) Losing teams will regroup, learn from the loss and come back and try harder next week.
            e) All 32 teams need to make less mistakes, even the ones who had a bye on Sunday.

On to our list of 13............
            13) Bengals are first NFL team in 34 years to pick off five passes two games in a row.

            12) Chad Pennington and Jay Fiedler were both little bit banged up Sunday, and angry group of 0-2 Ravens awaits next week. Not good news for Herm Edwards.

            11) The four teams on prime team next week (Cards-49ers, Packers-Panthers) are combined 2-10 so far.

            10) Saints should play better now that they get to stay in San Antonio and not travel this week, hosting Bills, they fumbled away opening kickoff two weeks in row.

            8) What's wrong with the Colts? Well, they're 3-0, so not a lot, but they've scored 54 points in three games, with only two TD's in two home games, so scoring is an issue, but the defense is a lot better.

8a) Speaking of the Colts, teams that are laying 13.5 points and score only 13 in game cover the spread 0% of time.

            7) One more Colts thing; Manning-to-Harrison has now gained 9,568 yards, most yards of any combo in NFL history, 30 more yards than Kelly-Andre Reed.

            6) Officials hosed Packers on two big calls Sunday, as they totally missed a Greise fumble that Packers got on Tampa's 10-yard line, and a long TD pass early in game wasn't allowed, due to a quick whistle. At 0-3 and trip to Carolina looming, the Pack is in jeopardy.

            5) Cadillac Williams is first-ever NFL back to rush for 100+ yards in each of his first three games.

            4) In three games, 49ers scored total of 62 points; 38 of those 62 points were scored in second quarter of their two home games. They scored 24 points in the other ten quarters combined.

            3) 0-2 teams were 4-1 vs spread in Week 3.

            2) Was stunned to hear that the Chargers have yet to retire Lance Alworth's #19, which they are finally set to do in November. Alworth was great, great receiver. By the way, ****** Unitas wore #19 briefly for Bolts when he finished his career in San Diego.

            1) I still don't get the whole Eli Manning/San Diego thing; what QB would rather be playing in windy New Jersey than in sunny San Diego? I am confused about this, just don't understand it.

Week 3 NFL Monday night action

Chiefs (2-0) @ Broncos (1-1)- KC lost last four visits to Mile High City, as home team won eight of nine meetings in this rivalry. Denver is 31st in NFL (Redskins are #32) in red zone offense (2.43 pts per drive), is just 7-28 on third down (Ron Dayne is their short yardage back!!) and has only two TD's on 23 drives, despite decent field position in both games. Denver red zone defense has allowed four TD's, two FG's in six drives. Chiefs have outrushed foes 323-128 so far; are +3 in turnovers, and have allowed just three TD's in 20 drives, as their defense has gotten better- in seven red zone drives, they've given up two TD's and a FG, third-best in NFL.

                              Monday's Game
First home game for LSU should ne emotional, but weather map says more rain for Baton Rouge Moday, so Vols-LSU should be quagmire as Fulmer looks to avoid 0-2 start in SEC. Teams have not met since LSU pulled upset in '01 SEC title game; Bayou Bengals covered last four series games. Tennessee has issues on offense, but have settled on Ainge as starting QB; they lost 16-7 at Florida after 17-10 struggle vs UAB in opener. Vols yet to score 2nd half point; they threw 35 incompletions in first two games. Game has been postponed to Monday, 7:30.
