Cyclones blow into West Point: Iowa State is coming off a huge win over in-state rival Iowa two weeks ago, the first time the team beat a Top-10 opponent since 1992. The Cyclones are 16-6-1 ATS as a favorite since 1999 while Army is 9-15-1 as a home dog during that stretch. Iowa State is also 5-1 ATS in the last six games overall, and the Blacks Knights are 1-6 ATS during their seven-game SU losing streak.
Second straight Big 12 opponent for Knights: Army suffered a 20-10 loss to Baylor last week and has not beaten a ranked opponent since 1972. The Knights also have not played Iowa State since earning a 9-7 win at West Point in 1964. Army is 3-0 all-time in night games at Michie Stadium but has not played one there since 1999.
Running games will be featured: Iowa State junior RB Stevie Hicks rushed for 118 yards on 28 carries against the Hawkeyes, his seventh career 100-yard game. Hicks helped the Cyclones to a 13-minute advantage in time of possession. Meanwhile, Army's Carlton Jones ran for 80 yards on 24 carries in last week's loss and ranks fourth on the team's career list with 2,663 yards.
