    Playing College Football 2005 – 2006

A few Tips for the more inexperienced players:

    1) Never lose sight of the importance of ½ point …. In all sports.

    2) Always Shop Vigorously for the best lines.

    3) If you use locals , ALWAYS NEGOTIATE YOUR DEAL WITH THEM in a cordial but businesslike manner. You’ll be surprised at the perks that will be awarded to you if only you speak up for yourselves. One of the most important perks in my standard deal is that I always get ½ point … no questions asked … for ALL sports. But in all fairness … mention that you will be willing not be allowed to come off the number 3 in football … that number is too huge and it will show your local that you are fair in your negotiation. ( Tip #3 helps you get well on your way to accomplishing #’s 1 and 2 ) Good Luck to all with your respective deals.

The Plays for Week 4 :

    Side Plays:

Top Play : Hawaii +2 over Idaho

    Regular: Minnesota -3 over Purdue

Regular: Oregon +21 over USC … look for The Ducks to keep it respectable.

Regular : Michigan - 2 over Wisconsin … now that everybody knows that the Wolverines are 1-15 ATS the first time they are installed as a road fave each year. How could Michigan possibly be favored in this game ? I’ll trust the lines maker ( with very few exceptions I almost always do )

Regular: New Mexico +3 over Texas El Paso

Regular: Colorado St. -18 over Nevada Reno

    Totals Plays: All Regular

UL Monroe / Florida Atlantic UNDER 41

Boston College / Clemson UNDER 42

Georgia / Mississippi State UNDER 43

Colorado / Miami Florida UNDER 44

    Mississippi +3 over Vanderbilt Loss

Mississippi State -2 over Tulane Won

Univ of Connecticut +15 over Georgia Tech Push

BC +2 over Florida State, but here again we have another Bowden in this game. Loss

Regular Arizona State -1 over LSU Loss

Regular Texas / Ohio State UNDER 46 Loss … and a lean on Texas +1 Won

Note: Looked hard at Clemson +2 over Maryland but again a Bowden is involved with them so it’s naturally a NO PLAY. But if you must play the game Clemson is the side to look at. Clemson Won

    ********************************************

    Week 1 Result:

All 6 games were Regular Plays.

Bowling Green +3 over Wisconsin Loss

Northwestern -14 over Ohio U Won

Neil, I agree a 1/2 point is important. However, I woud never suggest buying 1/2 point across the board. Why give Vegas any additional advantages.

Recently, a fellow member suggested buying a 1/2 point off -28.5. That's a horrible investment. In 20+ years of college football less than 2% of games with a line of -28.5 ended with a 28 point victory. Vegas charges 10% to buy 1/2 points on non-key numbers.

As you suggested shop online. Some books offer free 1/2 points. Use multiple offshore bookies. I recommend Pinnacle. They have the best lines at -107 or -104. Also, use a site like Bodog or Betcom. Those sites often inflate the lines on favorites. NEVER use Bodog alone.
