  • Is Showalter Dumb or What?

I didn't bet the game ,but with Texas leading 5-4 in the last of the seventh and men on first and second and two out, how could he walk Guerrero intentionally moving the tying run to third and go ahead run to second? Guerrero is very good but still to move the runners up to second and thirds come on, its dumb!;naturally Molina singled putting Anaheim ahead.
No wonder Texas doesn't do better with bonehead managing like that!

Check the play by account if you don't believe me.

yea cause if they were on 2nd or 3rd there wouldnt be much question on whether to intentionally walk him or not because almsot every time you do in that situation

No problem-obviously I would be the dumb one if the men were on second and third and I said it was dumb to walk Guerrero.
It would be unspeakably stupid if it were the last of the ninth when he did it.
You have to manage with logic and common sense, yes, but NOT with fear and in a position to lose the game!

yea, I quickly looked at the tv and though it was 2nd and 3rd...who knows why he did it, but I remember the announcer saying it was the right move?

You know what is really funny? I just checked the Texas Ranger website forum message board at www.texasrangers.com to see if anyone mentioned it. The answer is a resounding NO. I guess everyone gave up on this team and manager a long time ago and that no one cares any more.
Believe me if Francona had done it, there would be a zillion posts on the Red Sox forum.

The seventh inning is late enough not to do it. You got only six outs left and your bullpen is crap. Vladimir is a wild swinger. Pitch him with that knowledge.

Miss all your commentaries savage one.

The problem with this philosophy, is that Vlad can take a pitch that is 6 inches outside and at his shoelaces in height, and still drive it to right field. He swings wildly, but he still hits shitty pitches hard. Might be best throwing it right down the heart of the plate to him!
