To make things easier for me, I'm not gonna have separate sections for cfb & nfl, i'll just be posting what ever is released first, fades will be posted on sat & sun this way I can do them both at my leisure instead of cramming the nfl into 1 day's work, and not have to sound like a jackass looking for non existent help (PS, this is a preview of my new game: guess the smilies BC style)

                  Harmon Forecast NFL

*Cincinnati 17 Houston 10 -- The Texans are in disarray after offensive coordinator Chris Palmer is fired after three games. The Bengals are much improved and have several weapons on offense.

*Jacksonville 21 Denver 14 -- The Broncos struggled against one Florida team, the Dolphins, and travel back to the Sunshine state to battle the Jaguars.

*New England 24 San Diego 21 -- The Chargers' offense is struggling early on in the season and needs to recapture its 2004 form. The Patriots had a lot of offseason changes, which have made them look vulnerable early on.

Buffalo 24 *New Orleans 13 -- The Saints will be the away team even though they're listed as the home team. It gives the Bills an advantage in this particular game.

*N.Y Giants 27 St. Louis 24 -- The Giants' offense is become quite a force. This game has all the makings of a good offensive showdown.

*Tampa Bay 24 Detroit 14 -- The Lions have several questions at the quarterback position, while the Bucs' revived rushing attack makes them much improved.

Indianapolis 35 *Tennessee 21 -- The Colts' high-powered offense has failed to put up big numbers so far this season, and have too much talent not to score big against the Titans revamped defense.

*Washington 17 Seattle 10 -- The Redskins are doing everything necessary to win games under coach Joe Gibbs. The Seahawks' inconsistency on offense gives Washington an advantage in this game.

*Baltimore 24 N.Y Jets 14 -- Chad Pennington's arm still appears to be giving him problems, and a good defensive team like the Ravens will surely take advantage.

Philadelphia 28 *Kansas City 21 -- The Eagles' offense and defense are among the league's very best. The Chiefs will need to count on their running backs to make this a close game.

*Atlanta 21 Minnesota 7 -- The Vikings' offense has struggled this season, while the Falcons' offense has been flying high.

Dallas 21 *Oakland 14 -- The Cowboys are a much-improved team, and should be able to handle whatever the Raiders throw at them.

*Arizona 21 San Francisco 7 -- The Cardinal possess home-field advantage and a lot more weapons then the Niners, who continue their rebuilding phase.

                  Week 4 - Monday, Oct. 3, 2005
*Carolina 21 Green Bay 7 -- The Packers are no longer the powerhouse they once were, and the Panthers have a really good defense. With an offensive line in turmoil, Packer QB Brett Favre may be running for his life.

                    USA Today/Eric Smith

No. 1 Southern California at No. 15 Arizona State, 3:30 p.m.

For haters of USC, this may be your best opportunity. Reggie Bush is banged up after a physical game against Oregon last week. All that means is the Trojans will allow Matt Leinart and his receivers to get to the ball more than usual. Southern California 40, Arizona State 30.

No. 2 Texas at Missouri, noon

Missouri is called the Show-Me State. It's time for Gary Pinkel to start showing fans some big wins. This may be the Tigers' best chance if the Longhorns are looking ahead to Oklahoma. Texas 34, Missouri 21.

No. 3 Virginia Tech at West Virginia, noon

Two years ago, the unbeaten Hokies rolled into Morgantown and were embarrassed on national television. That memory should keep Virginia Tech sharp after an inspired effort against Georgia Tech. Virginia Tech 24, West Virginia 17.

No. 4 LSU at Mississippi State, 2:30 p.m.

Emotionally devastating loss. Short work week. Road trip in the SEC. Not a great recipe for the Tigers after blowing a 17-point lead in the fourth quarter against Tennessee on Monday. LSU 26, Mississippi State 16.

                    No. 5 Florida at No. 16 Alabama, 3:30 p.m.

Mike Shula must deliver wins in games like this to keep Crimson Tide fans happy and secure his job. Behind his defense and quarterback Brodie Croyle, Shula will quiet doubters ... at least until the next big game. Alabama 20, Florida 17.

No. 7 Florida State vs. Syracuse, 3:30 p.m.

The rest of the country will lament that Miami and Boston College missed their opportunities to knock out Florida State in the first month. From here on out, the young Seminoles will only get better. Florida State 33, Syracuse 10.

                    No. 9 Tennessee vs. Mississippi, 7 p.m.

Spent some time watching tennis to try and make sense of the Tennessee quarterback situation. Erik Ainge starts. Rick Clausen starts. Ainge starts and is entrenched for the rest of the season. One big upset later, Clausen is the man going forward. Anybody else getting dizzy? Tennessee 35, Mississippi 13.

No. 10 Miami (Fla.) vs. South Florida, 8 p.m.

How quickly expectations can change. What was once seen as an easy win for the Hurricanes is now a tough game after the Bulls pasted Louisville last week. Miami (Fla.) 28, South Florida 14.

                    No. 11 California vs. Arizona, 7 p.m.

Running back Marshawn Lynch returns to the lineup just as the Golden Bears seem to have solved their offensive problems. Look out, Wildcats. California 35, Arizona 16.

No. 12 Michigan State vs. Michigan, noon

Now that Lloyd Carr has dropped the two games he normally loses every season, the Wolverines may be ready to start playing to their talent level. If not, the Spartans will delight in running up the score after last year's overtime loss in Ann Arbor. Michigan State 34, Michigan 24.

No. 13 Texas Tech vs. Kansas, 7 p.m.

The Red Raiders open Big 12 play and could actually get some answers about their team after a ridiculous nonconference schedule. Texas Tech 42, Kansas 21.

No. 14 Notre Dame at No. 20 Purdue, 7:45 p.m.

Two teams going in the opposite direction of what was predicted entering the season. The road won't bother the Irish, who have already won three games away from South Bend this year. Notre Dame 26, Purdue 24.

No. 17 Wisconsin vs. Indiana, noon

Can't call the Badgers contenders just yet with their shaky quarterback play. However, the schedule is set up nicely without the presence of Ohio State. Wisconsin 35, Indiana 17.

No. 18 Virginia at Maryland, noon

After three unimpressive wins so far, the Cavaliers have to start showing their hand this week. Al Groh isn't the type of coach to play poker and bluff. His team just isn't that good. Maryland 21, Virginia 20.

No. 19 Minnesota at Penn State, 3:30 p.m.

Two teams fresh off nail-biting wins to open the Big Ten season: The Nittany Lions have the advantage of home field. The Gophers, however, have the advantage of Laurence Maroney. Minnesota 24, Penn State 20.

                    No. 20 UCLA vs. Washington, 10:15 p.m.

Yes, there is another good team in Los Angeles. But while Bruins coach Karl Dorrell campaigns for more respect in the press, it would be better if his team quietly handles its business and avoids the trappings of success. UCLA 41, Washington 14.

No. 22 Louisville vs. Florida Atlantic, noon

Howard Schnellenberger returns to Louisville and will be welcomed with open arms. The Cardinals need someone to bash around after their shocking loss last week. Louisville 49, Florida Atlantic 10.

No. 23 Boston College vs. Ball State, 1 p.m.

The Eagles deserve a breather after last week's overtime victory at Clemson. With the country's second-worst scoring defense, the Cardinals fit the bill. Boston College 42, Ball State 3.

No. 24 Auburn vs. South Carolina, 7 p.m.

Steve Spurrier may be good. He isn't so good that he can overcome the loss of starting quarterback Blake Mitchell in one of the toughest SEC stadiums. Auburn 28, South Carolina 12.

                    Last week's record: 15-3 (9-8)

                    This season's record: 64-12 (38-31-1)
