Welcome to animalssportspicks.com premium service for Tuesday, November 26th. Congrats go out to Wildcat Sports last night with their 10* Monday Night Football total of the year on the 'OVER'. Wildcat is now 14-3 in football 10* plays having hit 7 straight. Despite a rare off-night in hoops, "The Animal" completed a 5-2 weekend in pro football with Philadelphia outright. The "Late Steam Club" returns tonight between 6:20-7:00PM (ET). Traveling and the holiday on Thursday will temporarily suspend the "Late Steam Club" the remainder of the week and we will keep you posted on it's return. Now Tuesday's basketball card including our first college hoop 5* of the season.

    4* Virginia/Kentucky 'OVER' 148 1/2 points

On Monday afternoon, Chaminade scored 72 points against Virginia despite hitting 34.9% from the field. Virginia scored 86 points despite hitting less than 50% from the field and only 4-of-17 from three-point land. This would suggest the Cavaliers like to play an up-tempo style and it should be noted they have averaged 88 points in their first two games. Last year they allowed 79 points a contest on the road. Last night Kentucky tallied 82 points against Arizona State hitting 51% from the floor and 8-of-21 from three-point land. The Sun Devils had plenty of open looks but converted only 36% from the floor. We would expect both Virginia and Kentucky to shoot better tonight in their 2nd game of the Maui Invitational. Virginia is 8-0 ‘OVER’ the last three years when their opponent makes 48 to 53 percent of their field goal attempts. The Cavs are also 6-0 ‘OVER’ the last three seasons following a game against a non-conference opponent. Kentucky is 10-2 ‘OVER’ as a ne! utral court favorite the past three years. Virginia is also 12-1 ‘OVER’ as a road underdog the past three years. UVA is 19-8 ‘OVER’ in their last 27 games with a posted total. Kentucky is 11-3 ‘OVER’ in all games on a neutral floor. We go ‘OVER’ this total as a 4* release.

    3* Gonzaga/Indiana 'OVER' 138-point total

Utah couldn’t put the ball in the ocean last night making just five of 18 from the free-throw line (1-of-9 in the first half) and 21-of-46 from the floor. Meanwhile Gonzaga pounded the ball inside and went to the charity stripe a remarkable 43 times (made 33). Las Vegas wasn’t close with yesterday’s posted total of 128 in the UMASS/Indiana game as the Minutemen and Hoosiers scored 155. That game was like a track meet from the opening tip and Indiana is a team that loves to get up and down the floor. Gonzaga averaged 84 points a game at home last year and 79 on the road. We don’t see them trying to alter Indiana’s tempo one bit. The Hoosiers are 9-2 ‘OVER’ in non-conference games the past three years. The Hoosiers are also 5-1 ‘OVER’ following a game with a combined score of 155 or more points since 1997. Gonzaga is 5-1 ‘OVER’ if coming off one or zero days of rest the past three seasons. They are also 8-2 ‘OVER’ after two or more consecutive victories the last t! hree years. We go ‘OVER’ this total tonight also from Maui.

    Pro Basketball:
    3 Units on Indiana Pacers +1 -110
We are less than a month into the NBA season and already Michael Jordan is complaining about the starting cast of the Washington Wizards. That’s not a good sign. Indiana had a nine-game winning streak snapped Saturday night by Detroit. The Wizards have only covered three of 13 games this year and the Pacers are 21-7 ATS on the road when coming off a loss to a division rival. Indiana is 17-5 SU in this series and we are a little surprised they are the listed underdog tonight in the nation’s capitol. We like the Pacers to make it 10 wins in their last 11 games tonight.

    3 Units on Atlanta Hawks -2 -110
We suspect Seattle could be a little flat following their one-point victory at San Antonio over the weekend. Atlanta has lost three straight and the Hawks have had three days to d! well on their back-to-back defeats to Boston. We expect a spirited effort out of Atlanta tonight. The Hawks are 8-1 ATS at home following a home loss by double digits the last three years. Nothing will inspire a team more than a lopsided defeat in their own building. Actually, Atlanta has been rock-solid when coming off any kind of home loss as they are 14-5 ATS the last three years if their next game is also at Phillips Arena.

    3 Units on Utah Jazz +2½ -110
Utah is 8-0 recently against the Clippers. Los Angeles is 0-5 ATS at home so far while the Jazz enter Tuesday night having won and covered four straight. The deletion of Lamar Odom from the starting lineup has really hurt the Clippers. UTAH is 6-1 ATS in road games after 2 consecutive covers as a favorite over the last 3 seasons. When completely healthy, the Clippers will be a solid team. Until Odom returns they are a go-against. Despite their 1-6 ATS record as an underdog this year, we are on! the Jazz tonight.

    College Basketball:
    5 Units on Drake +1 -110
On December 12th, 2001, Iowa beat Drake 101-59. As one of my colleagues often says “there’s got to be a reason” why Iowa is only a one-point favorite tonight at Drake. The Hawkeyes were only 5-11 on the road in Big-10 play last year with the one-two punch of guard Luke Recker and forward Reggie Evans. Both have departed. In addition, forward Pierre Pierce, who started 32 games last year and averaged 7.1 points a game and 3.3 rebounds a contest, is suspended indefinitely. As you might suspect, we like Drake tonight. The Bulldogs have seven contributors back from last year’s team that closed out the regular season in 2001-2002 with four straight wins including a road victory at Creighton. Drake led the Missouri Valley Conference with 232 three-pointers and all of their guns are back this year. Drake ended last year with five straight covers and w! on 9/13 at home going 8-4 ATS. Iowa is 11-28 ATS as a favorite the past three years including 1-8 as a road chalk. The Hawks have covered just five of their last 21 on enemy hardwoods. While Iowa is 1-7 ATS in road games on Tuesdays the last three years, Drake is 8-2 ATS on this day of the week since 1996. Drake has covered 4/5 in this series and we feel they are ready to break through with a SU victory tonight. Recker was everything to the Hawkeyes last year and it will be quite an adjustment for this very inexperienced team on the highway in a difficult environment tonight.
    G-luck
