Being of the female persuasion and not really knowing a "puck from a duck" I would like to toss my estimation of how this will turn out this year , and you never know I am a very fast learner !

Eastern Conference Breakdown ;

The feeling here is the Bolts are a little to quick for the very slow defence of the Devils .

The Flyers will be worn out from a grueling 1st. round match-up and the Senators very good speed wins this tilt.

Outcome ;

Senators balanced attack will overcome the up-start Bolts and advance to the championship !


Western Conference Breakdown ;

The Stars will win this bracket on great defence alone and advance also [ the end to a very good year for the Canucks ]



Champions ;

Ottawa Senators , as key players regain thier health and roll in 6 against the Star`s

i think they will lose in the finals against Dallas - - you never know


I was wondering why you stated that New Jersey has a slow defence

I think its the total opposite

Niedermayer and Rafalski and Teverdoski can skate quicker than wind


If the Devils lose , I do not believe it will be due to their defence nor their goaltending - - that is their strong point

what has caused the devils problems this year is their lack of timely scoring, and not being able to come back from any deficits

for what its worth - I think New Jersey will win in 5 games:p

I really can't believe Detroit and Colorado are gone in RD 1. I wish that i had those 2 series dogs but who knew. I also think playing against Philly in game 1 at Ottawa will be easy money because they can't get that emotion right back and shouldn't show up mentally or physically until game 2 when i will then play Philly.

Bolts lost 6 since Jan. 20th

playoffs withstanding , I see this team on a mission , they lack the rings that New Jersey brings to the table [15] , the unsung hero`s are what leans me to a changing of the guard here , the Devils have been lacking on thier PP`s which didnt hurt them against the Bruins who where on the slide anyway but [IMHO] it will be thier Achilles Heel in this match-up , and man for man I think the Bolts are the quickest of the two [young legs] Key Player in the end " Tim Taylor " C for the Bolts !

Anyway , I want to thank you for your imput and wish your team luck [all of it good] and your views of the Devils parallel mine in many regards .

you are 100% correct - - - the bolts are the quickest team in the NHL

they have guys that can flat out fly - St.Louis, Richards, Propal, Lecavalier to name a few

I just always believed in the "paying the price" theory

remeber Sacramento Kings have payed their dues in the playoffs so i like them more this year

The Dallas Mavericks have not paid shit - so I do not see them winning a championship

I love Tampa Bay - - I just think they will pay their dues this year and next

but you never know

all I know is that if we would of bet $5000 on the Detroit and Colorado series - - - - the pay-out would be around $50,000

Round #2 starts tonight

In round 1 - i lost a lot of money early in the series (around 30k) and made most of it back towards the end of the series

almost broke even

I like what I see for Round 2 matchups and will post tonight

I think there is a lot of money to be made in Round 2 and I am currently trying to get the best value plays for this board

I work closely with some sharpshooters and will release some NHL later today


they wont all hit, but can guarentee we will be up in the long-run

After considering these games for a few days and hanging around the NHL site to collect data that could help in my estimation I hav finnaly arrived at a conclusion ;

Dallas - 240 under

Otttawa - 200 over

Bolts + 170 under

Lets see if we agree , in if not as always lets get our hands in pockets that dont belong to us !
