  • Farewell BILOXI...

I flew down to Biloxi today leaving the fam back in Auburn. It's gut wrenching. It is like a bad science fiction movie; like some end-times hollywood film with helicopters flying overhead, scattered troops, and an eerie silence. No traffic lights. Everyone self-governing their individual situation.

This is really hard. Much harder than I had anticipated. Seeing this in person is indescribable. There is an inward grief that is hard to define. This is my home of 40 years. It's really tough to leave. Really hard to take in right now.

I will be back online from Arkansas whenever possible. Good night, and farewell Biloxi...

    With tears,
    dave

I have no way to understand or identify with your situation. My heartfelt love and prayers go out to you, your family, and the many many people affected by this disaster.
Everybody dies, but not everyone lives.

Thanks for the moral support. Also want thank all who have helped us in financially.

Need to thank the City of Auburn and Opelika Alabama for their support over the last 2 weeks.

Especially Holiday Inn, Motel Six, Chic Filet, Buffalo Wild Wings in Tigertown, and Travel Travel travel agency.

I'll be driving back to Auburn tonight and me and the family will be heading to Arkansas tomorrow or Friday where we will more than likely stay throughout the Holidays with my in-laws.

            Thanks a million...

Can only imagine the trauma of the reality thousands of people like yourself face of not only losing all your possesions but a way of life. For persons like me it puts alot of trivial things that I thought were important right into perspective when I think of what you and others are going through.Take care and good luck. Nice prayer Eddie.

                        Dave,

Maybe I can share something. I was born in Vietnam. My family and I left VN in 1977. I was 8 yrs old. We were the boat people that many of you have read about. To make my story short. My parents basically left everything they had just so that my sisters and I have a better life. Sure they lost everything, but what they have was their children and their family. Our family sticking togther made us stronger and adapte to the way of live here in the US. I guess, what I am trying to say is that you may have lost your home or your car. But you know what. you will get them back. It may take a long time to get them all back. But you will. Right now, you have your family and that should be the most important thing. Stick together and you all will be stong and get back to your normal routine sooner than you think. I hope I am making sense. Best of wishes to you and your family!!!

Dave, may the good Lord be with you and yours during these trying times. I have a home in Southwest Tennessee that you are more than welcome to if needed. BC has the greatest people on the face of GOD'S green earth. I have only been a member here for a short period of time and there isn't anything I wouldn't do for anyone here,,,,cept maybe Husker lol. Take care and God Bless. You and yours are in my prayers.
