amen to that. I am not a celeb watcher or much of a tv watcher, but my gf is, and I discussed all these lines and she read the post too. We both thought that Desperate Housewives would be rewarded by a desperate hollywood, since it's the closest thing to successful fictional television there is.
Lots of strange things happened that night in terms of winners though, I thought (I actually watched the end because all my betted games were disgusting loosers, oh who am I kidding... I watched it because the gf demanded it).
Patricia fucking Arquette?!!?!?!?!? Are you fucking kidding me! I'm sorry, but she couldn't act her way out of a paper bag, the odds for her to win would've covered that desperate housewives miss and still put your kids through college. The show "medium" i think describes the publics reaction to it.

And the ONE unfunny character on DH's wins best comedy actress? hmmm, can we say, "sympathy vote"?

If there are ever were a fix, it's gotta be that patty arquette win man, that's stranger than anything I"ve ever seen (even she couldn't believe it, stating, "you actually said my name, right?" to which I wish I could've answered, "No, no, sit down, there's been a mistake." how weird is it that both me and everyone in the audience misheard the winner as Patricia Arquette?
Good call on the monk pick, and no worries about the DH's miss, it was ELR just because they were leaving.

i could cry and make excuses like that was the strangest night i have ever seen, but i try not to make excuses.........it is somewhat true, patricia arquette and felicity huffman?? i have no idea how that happened............

much like bigjake, i was watching last night with my fiancee who watched all these shows and i cannot really describe the confused look on her face during those announcements........i read today that this is only the 2nd time in 30 years they awarded a show 'best comedy' after it had gone off.....friends, sex and the city, frazier, seinfeld and all in the family all did not win after it went off the air........

but now i am making excuses.......we'll just move on from it but understand i feel like shit about it

Shorty, you don't put a gun to peeps head forcing them to bet. They are responsible for their own actions. Personally, I liked DH very much. However, I passed at -800 and higher. At that price it wasn't a good wager.
