had a team mate come to school out of a JC went to a few classes (key word is few)..the first quarter .. played one season and he is now top 5 player in his position in the NFL... it happens all the time guys dont care and they play ball to make the NFL... it just sucks for the guys who dont get the degree or the NFL career... Most coaches in big time programs know the routine

Very well put, but its sad that in today's society we're making excuses for this man, and the 75% of the others.

BTW...don't go so high and mighty on Lou....every school he's left has been mired with school violations (see ND and SC)

It's a discussion I won't win I know...but saying it's ok because everyone else is doing it DOESN"T MAKE IT RIGHT.

I never once said it was OK, actualy said the opposite....I merely said it was being done by all (majority)......I don't condone it, but I and one thousand others can't change the way society has perceived College sports as a whole....

I merely was trying to point out the fact of Isolating Stoops...when it and worse things are being done on a daily basis....Is it right ---hell no, but I can write 64 novels, long term, about whats not right about sports, (NCAA and PRO)...

and yes you're right about the baggage Holtz has left behind, but he still sat down 5 "Starters" for a bowl game, and for that I salute him...

I never once made an excuse for Stoops, excuses is not really in my vocabulary---you do it---you pay.........I personaly don't like his cockiness and arrogance, merely was trying to point out that NCAA Sports is not the same in regards to Education, Pride, etc....It's Gung Ho win--win--win.......

Education has taken a step backwards when it comes to priority in Most Colleges, Sports prevail....Do I agree---hell no once again....It's now a way of life, and it's gonna get worse.....
