  • Never Forget

Far more importand than today's NFL football and yesterday's football along with other sports.

Never Forget 911 and our countries new national tragedy Hurricane Katrina. My prays go out to all the victims and familes who've suffered and endured. The people of the gulf coast will endure. American's ALWAYS persevere.

    God Bless all.

Mods sorry if this doesn't belong here. I think for now it should stay here. Sports should be on the back page today.

Thanx Frank- Great thread and God Bless America. Lets not forget we are still fighting in a war in Iraq and Saudi Arabia as well as elsewhere- most seem to place this on the back page- given all that is going on. Of course 911 started it but then we got involved in a side agenda with Iraq- whether necessary or not since we have found no weapons of mass destruction- we are still sending young men to fight with $#&*&^^ trillions of dollars going into it. Put the same amount into this natural disaster and we are fucking bankrupt and losing lives with our unpreparedness. Just what the terrorists had on their agenda. :angryfire

Well Said Frank & Spearit. Let's not forget the young men serving in Iraq. My younger brother is being shipped there on Sept. 27th. Let's keep them in our thoughts & prayers as well!

I agree. Let's not forget our troops stationed in Iraq, across the globe and now in New Orleans.

Phinsphan, my prayers to your brother, you and your family.

                      Thanks Frank.

I work in Times Square. About 4 months before 9/11, we moved from our office on the 50th floor of Penn Plaza (right above Penn Station). I can't imagine how I would have felt had I been on the 50th floor of a building (with an unobstructed view of the Hudson River and the Twin Towers) with all that going on.

It was a surreal day, to say the least.

Mule before I moved to Florida in 1996 I worked at 2 Penn Plaza. On the 20th and then the 25th floor for eight years. In 1993 I remember looking at the window and seeing the smoke from the first attack on the Twin Towers.

My office at One Penn directly faced the Hudson. I was on the far west side of the building. I had my desk set up such that I faced the window.

I likely would have seen those planes flying down the Hudson as they approached the towers. It would have been very noticeable, since large jetliners don't fly down the river like that.

I know exactly where one penn is. You are right. Jetliners are never over NYC. The noise had to be very noticeable.
